.264 Nosler LRAB 129 gr. vs .264 Swift 130 Scirocco II

I know this isn't the bullet you have asked about but you might want to consider the Barnes 127 TTSX LRX. I use it in my 264 Win, 26" Kreiger barrel, 8 twist on a 700LH action. I get 3320 with R33 and R-P brass lit with a 250 CCI. Groups are phenomenal. The last week of Aug I was fortunate to get a New Mex antelope tag and took a dink at 653 lasered yards. The bullet is still going...

I was at the range on Tuesday testing 6 different bullets in my 264WM with a Shilen 30 inch barrel with 6 grooves, 1 in 8 twist and here is the results.
160gr Woodleigh PPSN, 73gr H570, 3 shot average 3261fps
130gr JLK VLD, 73gr H570, 3 shot average 3226fps
100gr Nosler Ballistic Tip, 72gr H4831, 3 shot average 3709fps
100gr Sierra HP, 72gr H4831, 3 shot average 3691fps
95gr Hornady Vmax, 72gr H4831, 3 shot average 3687fps
85gr Sierra HP, 73gr H4831, 3 shot average 3880fps
Use caution if you try these loads they are pushing the limits. The H570 is no longer made. I was lucky enough to find 3lbs and the heavy bullets like it.

Thanks for that info. That is smoking with a 160. I have used the 264 on many critters mostly with 120s and the 127 LRX. I really don't know why I would need more than the 127 but I have your info if I do, Thanks!.

I was really considering the Swift 130gr bullet until I read Litz's real-world BC test of them. They are below .500 which is way too low in this bullet weight. I'm sure they're a great bullet, but there are too many other good options for LR hunting with higher bc's.

I asked Swift what method they use to obtain BC ratings, they never answered my e-mail.

The 160 is going to be my Moose load if I ever get drawn for the tag.
