Sorry, I posted picture twice. Any way, they don't say "Ackley" on them, but that's what they are, per Redding technical help.

I have always had good luck with my Redding dies. Currently reload for a 223ai that I've owned for many years on a 700 action.

What experience do you have reloading for the 243ai? What works for you?
Action
Barrel- twist & length
Bullets
Powder
Brass

I just started load dev for my 243 imp. I rechambered a Tikka 243, 8 twist, 22", throated for 108 eldm, H1000, Peterson brass. Fire formed with H4831SC and 108 eldms, 44 grns, on the lands. Velocity was 2815. Shot six today to test for pressure 49, 49.5, and 50 grains of H1000. I loaded 2 ea at the weights above, ave velocities were: 49-2972, 45.4, 22.7; 49.5-2994 only 1 shot recorded, forgot to arm the garmin; 50-3051, 20.8, 10.4. I'm probably going to load 10 @ 49.5 and see how it groups. At 100 yds today that group was .78".

I only used the collet die on the once fired. I'll likely bump the shoulder after this and probably stick with the Lee die for the necks.

You have a Lee neck only die for a 243AI? If I understand that correctly, can you tell me what part number it is?

The standard Lee collet dies work with all my Ackleys, 243, 250, 257, 7mm. The redding 250AI sizing die was cut wrong and causing horrible runout. Sent it back and they got it down to .002 runout

Personally, I'm working on firing shot #2 on the 100rds of brass. Loaded 70gr Speer in front of 48.5 grs Staball 6.5. They're pretty zippy! 3640ish fps. Gonna be a fun rifle!

I use the Redding type s bushing dies and expand to desired interference fit with 21st century mandrels. I also use a Lee FCD for Hammer bullets.

I get 3600 from 80 gr HH. Rn high 2900s with 105 Berger. Can get over 3100, but near pressure and lower node is wide and stable.

What powder, please?
