Like stated a lot of people will fire once than automatically start pushing shoulders when in reality most cases I've played with need multiple firings to form to the chamber.

Nothing is worse than hearing "one fired brass" and ".002 bump" in the same sentence.

I went ahead and stripped the bolt in this Savage. Had to take everything except the extractor plate off to get it to drop completely closed.
Long story short, the bolt drops completely closed on a FIRED case. Guess it ain't time to worry about bumping the shoulder back! Thanks for all the good feedback, gents. Dies from Redding include a neck only die, I'll use that till the chamber gets hard to close, and go from there.
