243 powder

I am working up loads for my 243 that I just finished up building. I have a McGowan 24 inch barrel with a 1-9 twist and I am thinking about 80 to 100 grain bullets for deer. What powder do you guys use I am thinking IMR 4350 or H 4350.

I would trade speed for dead accuracy

i4064... you may loose 100 fps but your accuracy will likely go up as your gas pressure at the muzzle will drop... I've seen my Pops drop dozens of deer with I 4064 and a 100gr hdy pill...the deer will not notice the difference

Hybrid 100V is a good powder for the 243 as well H4350,

I've had a lot of luck with IMR 4831 shooting 95-100 grain bullets. My brother and I both started w/ 243s, 100gr partitions and IMR 4831.
I'm on my 3rd barrel and each one I've lucked out with IMR 4831. Tried H4350, H4831 in all the barrels and just couldn't find anything.
My friends .243 shot H4350 really well.

I have had best groups from IMR 4831. I have a slow twist barrel that won't shoot anything over 90 grain, so you may get difference results.

Staball is excellent in 243 very good velocity and accuracy. 90gr AB @3208 .3moa

For deer It will be hard to beat h414 and 85s to 87s out to 500 yards
