You`re welcome friend. I live in NY, i use to kill them every day with my 22-250. Then the liberals moved into the countryside flooding the area with stupidity, so just to keep the nosey neighbors from calling the cops all the time, i started taking them out with my rimfires a few years ago. I can still easily kill them out to 100yds. Only drawback between the rimfire vs the 223, shot placement makes a difference with the rimfire. I just think of it as keeping my skills honed in by using a rimfire.

Mine is the compact 20 inch barrel version that I shoot the most

If you're sticking with a bolt rifle in .223 Rem, I'd go with he 1-8 twist for sure, I like a little more barrel so my .223 Rem LR rifle is sporting a 27-inch tube. Since I shoot mostly 80gr to 83gr bullets, I work for the Vel's. Good luck, Cheers

For close range (300 and under) in the .223 on chucks and yotes I really like the 55 NBTS
They will work with any twist but for longer distances and quicker twists I really like the 75 BTHP
Can definitely tell the difference in bullet weights by the "thump" you hear at bullet connection on critter.
