22 Creedmore

I agree the 22Creedmoor with brass available from 3 sources is easier than fireforming brass for any of the other hot rod 22 calibers.
Also in a pinch you could shoot 22-250 ammo in the 22 Creedmoor.

Myself I've been shooting the .220 swift filling that role for over 20 years.

The problem with the faster rounds is that they will just eat barrels at a ridiculous rate.
Problem is swift ammo in Aus is impossible to come by. So it's kinda gitta be those, and I don't really wanna fire form. But, I'd deal with fireforming a middlestead.

That's a bummer. I keep hoping one of these days the majority will come to their senses down there again and strart treating gun owners and the ammo/firearms industry like people again.

It takes a whole lot to put up with the BS down there to keep shooting.

Yeah no kidding.every time I turn around there is another ban. The "Greens " are a socialist communist party and are ruining the country and manipulating the media with bs.

Still, what you reckon is faster 22 creed or 22-243 with a 50/55gr. Pill?

Why waste barrel life fireforming when you get all the benefits from the .22 Creedmoor? To me it's a no-brainer, reload the .22 Creedmoor and go have fun, you won't tell the difference between the two.

Enjoy the process!

The creed but not by much. Capacity is only about a grain more

I figure it needs to be more worth while than a plain 243 shooting a 55 gr pill at 4K. If I can get 4200 out of a 55 grainer 1:12 twist and a 26 inch barrel I'll do it.

I couldn't tell you, I haven't looked into the data for either. I suspect the 22-243 is around 300fps slower since the AI version with greater case capacity is a little slower than the .22CM.

I'm just investigating this for a friend in Africa. Mutual friends will be coming over in March and I'm supposed to get it all together for him by then.

Hornady has a 90gr a tip
Wonder if a 7 twist will stabilize out of the creed
Offhand I'd say probably so but if you look at their website I'd just about bet you they list the twist requirements. If not I know you can call them tomorrow and find out. They are great folks to talk to and deal with.
