Are they as good as everyone claims they are? Have a 300RUM and plenty of these to try. Another 250 on the way to compliment this 100

I haven't tried any I have yet! I have 3 300wm's (24, 26 and 30") with 3 different twist (9.35, 10 and 9) in order od barrel lengths listed. I got the 30" for everything over 210gr, 26" is for 190-210gr and the 24" for the lighter stuff.

You can run the 215s in any of those honestly. I'm running them in a 26 inch 30 Nosler with a 9 twist

Unless you run it murderously hot and have nothing but firecracked gator skin left for a bore it'll eat them fine. If they start disappearing before the 100 yard target might be time to grab the JB paste.

Most likely not that fast, just a tad less than light speed

3250-3450 will be fine by using a longer barrel and less powder than a 300rum, 300nm or 300lm case. If it's in the 3050-3150 range then I'll settle for that.

I just started to load a few 215s in my 30 Nosler. I'm using a 26" Bartlein, 10 twist with .125 freebore. Working up a load with H1000 @ .020" off as a starter.

Care to share your load or experience with the 215s in the 30 Nosler?

Broz did a great write up on the 215 a while ago. You can skip the first few pages and get right into the performance on game pages. Impact velocity entrance and exit photos will leave no doubt on their performance on game.

The 215's have served me very well out of my 300 Win. Shooting them just under 3000 FPS out of a 10 twist Brux (custom reamer). My only problem with the 215 is meat loss/damage. It has been extensive from up close100-300 yds and out to 734 and 625 yds on deer and elk. I am considering changing to a mono for this upcoming season. I know lots of guys claim they don't loose meat with the 215. That has not been my experience. Not a knock on the bullet at all, as I have never lost an animal. Just have lost a lot of meat over the years.
