Got my first bird finally. Been chasing them for the last few years . Called in a bear the first year while working a bird . Had a few missed opportunities the second year . It's not a big bird by any means but it's a start. Just a small Jake.

I've been a turkey magnet most of my life. Killed a bunch with shotguns & rifles but, wanted more of a challenge. Used single shot handguns for a while, but still looked for more challenge. Used my Colt Anaconda .44 Mag. to get this jake at 59 yards.
BUT, that's not my regular turkey gun. It's a Freedom Arms .454 Casull!! I found a bullet that doesn't tear them up with a double wing shot. Taken 30 with it. This big boy was 21 1/2#, 10" beard, at 129 yards!

Opening weekend 2023, Sat 5min before hearing a gobble…yelped and he showed up within 2minutes…11.5" beard, spurs were worn down, very sandy soil, weighed 22lbs…longest beard to date.
