162 GR AMAX in 7mm-08 w/ RL17

I never tried the A max bullet . I'm using RL17 powder and I was messing with the 168 bergers but I switched to the 140 grain bergers . quickload says ;
162 A max , RL17 , 24" bbl , 2.800COAL, 42.7 grains is max , 98.1% case fill , 2735 FPS . hope this helps . Jim

That would be a top velocity load and probably from a 24/26 inch barrel I would think. I run 162ELDX at 2650. I think 42 or 42.5 grains of 6.5 staball powder. Keeps the cases in good shape with annealing each time.
