142g. LR Accubond use

I have been shooting Noslers for a long time. I shot my buck with the 142 ablr last December in the neck at 165 yds. It didn't exit and bloodshot 75% of the neck roast. For under 300 yds I will stick with the Nosler 140 hunter for deer and the 140 accubonds for hogs.

I"ve been shooting 142ABLR out of a 6.5 SAUM at 3015. I am not seeing excessive meat damage with this bullet at all. Everything I have taken with these bullets has had a quarter size exit hole including a large Aoudad shot quartering to me at 380 yds complete pass through after going threw the off side shoulder at the large joint. Also extremely accurate shooting 1/4 minute groups out to 900 yds . With the results I have seen with this bullet I won't be looking for another load in this rifle. Good luck with your project

Two guys using 6.5x284's in our group last year. IIRC the load was 53.2 grains R23 with the 142 ABLR.
Bull #1 at 360 yards took one shot in boiler room and went down in 30 yards, bull #2 at 300 took a couple shots because the first shot spined him. Didn't blow up on either bull.

Small sample ,1 cow elk 70 yards went clear through taking a big chunk of heart with it. Exit was just over bullet diameter no blow up but an awful lot of hydrostatic shock bloody jelly on outside of carcass between hide.

Personally in my 6.5X284 they did not shoot very well and I tried everything under the sun. Berger's shot excellent in it.
I just shot some 129s in my 6.5 CM and they shoot ok but this was factory loaded ammo. I also shot some HSM 130VLD that are shooting much better and about 100 FPS faster. I will be trying the sierra game changers and some barns LRX bullets soon in the CM as well. I do like the concept of the ABLRs bonded bullet and very sleek design just would like to seem them hold tighter groups.

The 142gr ABLR has become my standard bullet for the 6.5-300. It is accurate. I've shot over 200 animals with it, ranging from close to past 600yds...from varmints to large deer and cannot fault it.

A few things stand out here.
1. 200 animals, pretty big sample size
2. Close Range to long range
3.Varmints to Large Deer
4. The cartridge, this is good info, esp. up close with such a fast round.

This tells me I need to try this bullet!

I use the berger 156gr eol in my 6.5x284 and it works awesome
very low es with h1000
2911 fps
1/4 moa
Great terminal performance on animals
