115 Bergers in 25-06

I am picking up my (new to me) 25-06 tomorrow and was wondering if anybody is useing these bullets in the 25-06 and if so what is your load. I am thinking of useing RL25 or possibly RL22. Any info you can give me would be great. Thanks in advance.

I don't know how much powder is used but at 3060 FPS MV that bullet was the most impressive terminal performer when compared to 225 Accubonds 338 Cal and several others on an 650 # boar hog at 100 yds. It was purely awesome.

This was during a terminal performance test. The hog was hanging horizontal and upside down.

The 115 VLD went through both rear legs breaking both leaving impressive damage channel and kept going.

Still doing some testing but so far i have got 3200fps out of it useing 56g of RL25. Showing slight primer flattening but no sticky bolt or other pressure signs. That being said i am not going above 56. Got a couple groups under 1" so far but nothing impressive. I would like to get it under .5 Thanks for the termanal performance review Roy thats what i like to hear.

You might want to look into some Retumbo. I get a little more speed in my 25-06.

I used RL22 and 9.5M primers but only tried 50.0 - 51.5 gn of powder. I got a partial box from a buddy so testing was limited. I went in half grain increments and 50.0gn averaged 2951fps and printed .387", 50.5 avg 3004fps @.757", 51.0 avg 3044fps @.390", 51.5 avg 3062fps @ 1.0385".
I loaded the remainder at 51.0gn and once they were gone never tried them again. Just didn't shoot it that much and traded it to my son. JohnnyK.
