Hunting Rifle: Anyone Else Have No Desire for a Silencer?

to me answer your question , Me ! i have no plans on adding a Scilencer to any of my rifles ! i'm not " against " them in any way , i just don't want one !
As a Canuckistani, this entire debate is academic to me; the gummint up here has decreed that cans are evil and cannot be allowed. But I've had the opportunity to shoot rifles with cans a few times when out of country, and my opinions are mixed.
I'd love to have a can on varmint rifles, or dedicated range rifles, but otherwise I have no interest in them. Especially when on an important hunt...and that's all of 'em!...I want things the way I want them. That means walnut rather than plastic, singleshots and levers over bolts, no semis at all...and definitely no cans on a beautiful rifle. It's just a personal preference thing. I want my hunting rifle to be something that I can hold up and admire, something that makes me smile.
Most of the crap that people seem to love to tack onto rifles nowadays makes me laugh.

My biggest trepidation over buying a silencer is they're overpriced and I'm not going to support this ripoff. Compared to a whole rifle's cost and complexity which can be purchased for $350, a silencer shouldn't cost over $100, not $1000+. Compare the amount of material, strength, complexity, and machining required to design and build a safe rifle to what's required to build a flashlight housing with some baffles in it. Silencers are ridiculously overpriced. I'd rather wear electronic ear buds than overpay for a silencer.
