Greetings.

Long time shooter, reloader, hunter. Have a very nice 6.5 Creed whose sole purpose is a Coyote rifle. I have other rifles / cartridges for bigger game.

1 of those reifles is another very nice, accurate .270 Win. Have now completed some extensive study on this cartridge using 90 to 110 gr LITE bullets for COYOTES..

On paper, the .270 ballistics beat the pants off the 6.5 ballistics with LITE bullets. For COYOTE only. NOT Deer & up. Another topic.

Tell me why I shouldn't be using the .270 for the next Coyote hunt??

Thanks.

Heck I use 7mm-08AI,280 Rem, 284 Win & 7mm Rem Mag with 100gr Sierra HP Varmint on coyotes at times.

Designated coyote rifle is a Savage Axis II in 250 Savage with 75gr Sierra HP Varmint.
All of my 25 caliber rifles work just fine on coyotes out to 400 yards.

About 12-14 more grains powder is the only reason I know.
270 inherent accuracy rivals any cartridge out there, so can't use that one.

I would use both to give you practice with both.

Thank you. All good thoughts - every single one. Appreciated.

My 6.5 is a .2 / .3 moa rifle - the .270 is typically .5.

I don't "dial" but am confident out to 400 +/-. Rifles are identical - triggers excellent - like both rifles very much.

For the Creed - getting ready to work with the 105 gr Blitzing. If it groups the way I hope it will, might just stay with the Creed. Not a bad place to be either! Good point Lance.

Cheers.
