Can only keep one rifle what do you choose?

There was an outlaw here that killed more big whitetails at night with a 22lr than most here have seen. Not even considering the ones his son killed the same way.

One thing about it, after reading the responses there will be some very dead squirrels and rabbits! LOL

Granted…..but a "head shot" with a 22 LR is similar to a "head shot" from a low velocity.30 caliber or larger! 😉 Though, from past experience using cast bullets from a .308 Win……shoot them through the eyes, farther back will give you bloodshot shoulders! 🤔 memtb

Before my divorce, I was a Primary Producer running cattle, Black Angus steers mostly, I also had a breeding herd of both Black and Red Angus.
I would interbreed every other season for the meat trade. This blend offers more muscle than either make alone in 18 months.
With the divorce, I lost all of it and came out virtually broke.
No, having a veggie garden doesn't cut it.
I was going to buy property, but, after my health issues in 2023, there really is no point, as I am informed my heart is beyond repair and my kidneys are failing, so the end grows ever closer. My friends are also dropping around me and we're all only in our mid fifties.
Something evil is occurring in this world currently.

Cheers.

7mm PRC! It will take down anything I need to hunt

Magnum, very sorry to hear of this. I knew that you had some health issues……but, nothing of that magnitude!

You will certainly be kept in my thoughts and prayers…..hoping that "somehow" things will get better for you! memtb

I see all these posts on different sites asking for advice on one gun vs another both in brand and caliber. I always laugh as a lot of responses come from very experienced riflemen who probably own dozens of rifles and have the options of picking several for any purpose or pursuit. It occurred to me that if I was forced to just keep and use one rifle …..what would it be? This is where the rubber meets the road. This rifle choice must be used for any and all shooting.

I have the following….22 LR, .222, .223. 22-250, .270, 6.5 PRC, 7 Rem Mag, 7 PRC, .300 Win Mag, 308 Lazzeroni Warbird, .375 HH and a 45-70. Needless to say I have multiple rifles in many of these calibers which was of course unnecessary!

However if I had to dump them all and keep just one I would pick the 7 PRC. Super accurate great ballistics and loves 180 grain Bergers.

What's your survivor from the culling??

Very sorry to read your post, will pray for you and hope for the best! You are still very young.

One of my Thompson Encores. But of course with the 30.06, 45-70, 223 pistol and rifle barrels, and 308 pistol barrel.

I guess I cannot play is this one. Impossible for me to pick one. Perhaps 3 or 4 but not one. Love them all. EXCEPT my stupid Remington 12 Gauge Slug master, in Camo, with the thumbhole stock.
