30-06 Light bullet powders/loads

Love the B78! A cheek piece and a bit of a pistol grip make them much more enjoyable to shoot than the straight grip in the 1885.
For me, it is an absolute perfect fit, even with a scope cranked all the way up to 10, I can stay on scope over 10 minutes watching deer in the food plot without real discomfort….. operating that Highwall with the small hammer in Michigan in December/January is 😖

Hodgen has a lot of information on the subject. As someone mentioned their online load data app lets you select for reduced loads. They also have these documents online:

Reduced loads using Trailboss. There's a recommendation for a 30.06 load and instructions for generating other loads: https://hodgdonpowderco.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/trail-boss-reduced-loads-2018-2.pdf

How to use H4895 powder for reduced loads with an example using 30.06: https://hodgdonpowderco.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/h4895-reduced-rifle-loads-2.pdf

After a short (30yrs +/-) time away from the bench, going to be setting the press up in the house we just moved into. Loading for deer hunting, looking at barnes or bonded bullets in the 120-130gr range. Max shot will 350yds. Really liking how those 120gr TAC-TX bullets work in ballistic jell but can't find any load data.... plus i might be able to use them in my bolt 30-30. Lots of good reviews on the 130gr TTSX. Open to light bullet recommendations. Also need observations on powder, looking at N150, Ramshot Big Game and one of those 4064s (been looking online and im cross eyed....imr/h/aa). priority to temp stability and non-barrel burner.

Also, as my speer manual is soooooo old, recommendations for a new manual/app??

EDIT: These will be fed into a 26" 12T Varmint bbl
4064 and Varget are your Huckleberries , probably good performance out to 650 yards, I have shot 1000's of the TTSX 130's through my 06 with perfect performance.

I've been loading the 110gr TTSX for a very good friend. His 06 is a 22" 1:10 sporter. His use though, is shorter ranges in some thick woods.

Latest Barnes info....

Here is a load I intend on trying very soon.
The link did not work. Here is the load, 30-06, 165 gr Sierra SBT, can use TGK instead.
Start load 55.4 Grn Staball 6.5=2804 fps-Max load-60.2 Grn-3,003 fps
It was on Hodgdon load data, while Hodgdon does a good job on safe loads, I personally would work up to 60.2 grns.

Varget as it was the easy button
Thank you for all of the comments. Stopped in at a Cabelas and grabbed a pound of Varget, they're powder supply was noticably down from the last time I was in...... So I grab some of that "easy button"

Now on too bollets...

Don't forget to add the 125 NBT/Accubond to your Varget!
