  • FYI - I am in discussion with Hammer bullets to make a 180 or so for the Max and will let you know. This is recent in last 2 weeks.
I have the 1.8 Max on shelf until brass comes down. Nobody will make it unless I buy 10,000 cases. $$$$$!
Keep me posted! Dang character limit!

Need to be aware the velocity drops fast so any bullet needs to be able to expand at lower velocities like the Fury can do. I actually bought out Wideners Nosler .357 180 Partitions few years back and still have maybe 5 boxes left. They shoot great out to 100 yards and real thumper at that distance. The Fury will shoot easy <2" at 200 yards and I bet it will be awesome in the Ruger.
    Gary,
Where the heck did you find a No. 1? Man am I jealous! A reg 357 die set will work, it comes with a spacer washer so you can use with the Max. H110, W296, Accurate 5744, Lil Gun, and Accurate 1680 all work good. If you haven't ordered the bullets yet from Dennis at Fury, I had him make me 190's that shoot ridiculously good. And yes, they shoot much better with heavier bullets. Even the 200FTX shoots well in it.

Have you had issues with the Lil'gun being unstable in cold wx - seen some comments about that on the web.

Taking the Ruger to the gunsmyth after work today, will get her back end of July chambered in Max and sporting a VX3i 3.5-10x40. Haven't had my reloading press out of the box for about 27yrs..........that'll be next weeks project.

Nope, Lil Gun was fine but never really used in cold weather below 15 so it was fine. Plus carried ammo in pocket anyway
