375 wsm, 375 rem mag or 375 saum

Hi all I wanting to build one of the above calibres but I'm unsure which. I'd like to build it on a long action with 300gn ish projectiles. Wsm and Saum 30 cal brass is easy to get but the 350 rem mag is proving to be a little hard but not impossible.

Has anyone had any experience with any of these?
Looking for a 500-800 yard hammer

No parent case is Rich's MEGA design. It's a one off case that's slightly larger than the WSM

If your looking to shoot 500 to 800 yards with a .375 you should consider the 375 RUM with a wyatts box. Very efficient round that gets little love. My son has one that shoots the 329 gr. Hammer Hunter over 2800 fps. With a Terminator brake, the recoil is not that bad.

...still hard to beat a plain Jane ho-hum. 300 win mag for those distances and the always overlooked 8mm rem mag...the best kept secret in all of long range banging..

Yep, nearly impossible on the open market. Occasionally you'll find some brass and ammo listed on the various Classified Ads forums but you have to keep looking as it goes quickly.

I built a few .375-300 WSM rifles a while back but in short actions. I wasn't impressed.

A .375 SAUM will be a little worse than the WSM due to case volume even in a long action.

Now, with a little reloading room magic, You can create the .375 RCM (Ruger Compact Magnum). The .338 RCM brass can be a little hard to find sometimes but it is available.

My favorite though is the .375 Ruger, if Ruger ever gets off their lazy behinds and actually makes a run of brass again. They are way too busy skinning us alive with their ammunition prices to make the brass. Buy ammo to get the brass though really works also.

As long as you're opting for a long action, I've gone to the .375 Norma Mag. This works great and stays within the parameters of the standard long action. You want a long action, use it for a worthwhile endeavor.

What is your powder load with the 375 Norma mag? Thanks

I've been loading a couple of different bullets but usually using VVN-555 or Hybrid 100V. The Cutting Edge 300 gr. MTH and the Badlands 275 gr. SBD2 test well at the longer ranges using a 26" Bartlein. Velocities run in the mid-2800's and are fairly mild loads for me. These are both magazine length for a long action. Way more than enough ft/lbs for moose at longer ranges.

How many grains of powder?

Norma has published some reasonable loads for the .375 RUM.

Start low and work up slowly watching for signs of pressure.

I already reload for my 375RUM.
I'm not looking to play pattycake.
