264 WIN MAG

Remington 700 Sendero. 26" barrel. Remington brass, FED-215 primer, Retumbo at 63.0 grains, 143 Hornady ELD-X bullet. Gave good results and accuracy with proper seating depth. Does anyone know of any other brass manufacturerers??

I couldn't get the 142s to shoot in my 1-9 twist. Out of those choices the 135s would probably be the best for your twist.
 
I'm shooting a 6.5/284 with 127 LRX and H1000. The H1000 looks really good though I'm still tinkering a bit with the load to squeeze out some more accuracy. I think any of those slow burn powders will do well. I'd be more concerned about bullet match to twist rate and (my bias) a fast moving frangible bullet. I do like well constructed bullets with high velocity cartridges.

264WM One of my favorite. Magpro, Magnum or 7828 will work just fine.
I have always had great performance with Rl-22 and 26, lately H-1000 and N-560.
140 ELD-X and SST for whitetail.
Lately Swift Scirocco 130 and Barnes 127LRX . My old Model 70 9twt shoots the 140 class bullets very well.
Hybrid 100v I think should work well.

I'd Use, the VERY Accurate and Deadly, 135 gr. Berger Classic Hunters and don't,.. look back !
In my .270 WSM, the 140 Classic Hunt's @ 3,175 FPS, shot THROUGH, BOTH Shoulder Blades, Hides, all Meat in between and, the bullet's Base exited, on a Bull Elk at, 115 yards, insides ( upper Lungs,.. Jello ! ) POW,.. Hoove's in Air,.. DRT !
Very little, Meat loss ! GREAT Bullet,.. IMO
SOLD all my Nosler AB's after, a disappointing, "slow Kill" ( Minimal bullet, Expansion ) on, a Northern Az. Bull, 2 years earlier,..
BERGER'S,.. Get it, Done ! Be careful with, your "Barrel Life" on the .264 Mag., tho !
 
I've got an older Sako finbear L61 in 264. My father bought it back in the early 70's and it has both the Sako scope mounts and the Sako rear peep sigh, as a backup. (remember Murphy was an optimist :))
 
Thanks for all the advice. I loaded up some 135 Berger's and some 142 ABLRs with I think 60 grains of Retumbo. I think this was middle of the line for a 140ish bullet. Now to pull out the closet queen and man I don't know if I ever put a scope on it. If not I have a 4x14x44 or 50 conquest I've been saving for years like maybe 20 years now. Never seen the light of day except once. Used to work with a guy in Va. whose wife worked for Zeiss. We got everything for half price. I bought a set of Bino's and 2 matching scopes. One is now on my wife's 243 and although it doesn't have a zero stop it track like no other. I will most likely put the extra one that I have on the 264. Should make a decent setup.

What powder and primer are you using in the 270WSM with the Berger 140 gr Classic Hunter bullet? Thx…

Noslers info on the 264 hasn't changed in 25 years. They have some very anemic load data. 7828 would work well with 130s

Bergers max load in their manual is 68.5. That's what I use. I have ran it up to 70 grains. But 68.5 is easier in brass.

I'm using, 65.7 gr's of IMR 7828, F-215 Mag Pr's, 140 Classic's seated about, .020 short of, a Tikka T-3, WSM, Magazine.
Since I stopped Elk hunting last year, I've given all, my Powder, Bullets, Pr's, Rem. Brass, Rifle and Data, to grandson about, 6 months ago, so I can't remember COAL ( sorry ). This Load clocked, an average of, 3,173 FPS + or, - 7 FPS from a 24" bbl. and always shot, 3/4 or, better, MOA.
IIRC, 66.5 gr's is Max, ( got sticky Bolt Lift, in MY Rifle at 66.1 gr's ) so work up carefully from, a couple of grain's,.. LESS !
Hope it work's for You ! Good Luck ! Maybe Find, the Berger Data sheet on THIS Bullet, as it has several Powders Listed and Max chg. for each.
Bryan Litz designed, the Classic Hunter Bullet, to Maximize the BC for, Magazine fed Rifles.

Nosler, PPU, Norma. When/if I run out I'm going to buy premium 7mag brass like Peterson and neck if down.
