What’s the farthest you have taken a big game animal with a rifle?

I shot my furthest this weekend at 465 yards on a whitetail doe. I'm sure I'm not even close to the farthest and probably not even what some consider long range but it's pretty far for me. I used a 6mm creedmoor 88gr hammer hunter 3340fps at muzzle and 2240 estimated at impact.

It got me thinking about how far other people have taken animals. Post em up with what cartridge and loads you used.
I took my one and only antelope so far at 615 yards with my 6.5 X284 Norma

My two longest with two different guns were.
980 yds on whitetail with Bergara HMR 300WM 212gr. ELD-X over 76.1gr. H1000
969 yds on whitetail with Custom 6.5 CM
143gr. ELD-X over 43.3gr. Of Superformance.

450 yards with a Sako AV, 300WM, 26" Kreiger, 180 Nos BST, VN 560. Near Lion coulee in north central Montana in the badlands near the Missouri River. It was a mule deer buck last day, last afternoon - you know the story. Saw him about a mile away and I took off and had to cross the same "little" coulee three times. Amazing how coulee's are always steeper and deeper than they look. Had to catch my breath best I could, dropped to my knees and rested the rifle on my folding cross sticks. Went down but got up. Second shot drt. First shot behind shoulder through the ribs and second shot broke offside shoulder due to the angle.
Couple of other mule deer at 375 yds and a couple of coyotes at 375 and 400 all with Remington 700, 7mm RM, Shilen barrel. Another coyote with the Remington in Montana was at 8, eight, yards. All these were a big deal for this Georgia hunter who normally could shoot his deer and then hit it with a rock from the stand.
Longest Georgia Whitetail shot just happened 2022 season at 73 years old. 218 yards with a LH Winchester model 70, 25" Hart barrel, 30.06 AI, 152gr Shock Hammer, Norma 204. 3 rifle bucks chasing a doe across several shooting lanes and one of them was the widest I had ever seen. Took a guess as to which lane they might show up again and got ready. He came out at a dead run angling away. Hit him in the neck. He was 23 1/2" wide. Shot was like the old days when I was snap shooting wild Georgia quail in the 60's. We see stuff like this every year during the rut and if you don't get one you most likely will never see him again.

Great post, it's wild how I forget somethings but I don't forget these things!
Whitetail Doe 1730yd (heart shot)
Bull elk 1250yd
Longest headshot 400yds

Too many to count from 600-1100yds
300wm 225eldM w/ Sightron siii

**Depends on the circumstances but I won't shoot past 1400yds now for reliable bullet performance.
The 225eldM on the elk at 1250yd literally rolled him and I recovered a perfect mushroom on the skin of off shoulder. At the 1730yd Doe it barely expanded but got lucky w bullet placement! If it's 600-900yds I will SEND IT!

To Lance Kenyon,
What scope was on your 300 RUM to hit a squirrel at 1200 yards ?
Premier Heritage 5-25x56 Gen 2XR
We were shooting steel and rocks before an elk hunt, and I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on a basketball sized rock at 1191. A squirrel popped.up on a rock on a 45° angle behind and to the right. I told my spotter..."hey, do you see him?"

My spotter laughs, and says "no frwaking way".

I reranged, added 1 click (.1MIL) and sent it. Shot hit about 2-3" below him, and spall blew him right off the rock about 15' up. When he landed, he never moved.

My spotter said "No...Fu---n...way!"

I said, "yeah, I think I am good for elk now."

A week later, I popped the pair of coyotes (2 shots) at 1374 yds feeding on an elk carcass.
