Rl23 is much easier on throats than N560 or 565 in my experience.

I've got love for the 7SAUM. Years ago, the guy that built my 6.5X47L suggested 7SAUM because of it's efficiency. He did caution me about 7SAUM brass being very hard to get. So I went 6.5 and have really enjoyed that rifle.
I killed a nice elk last year with 7mm Rem Mag because the hunt availability came up quick and I did not have time to get a 7SAUM or 7PRC built. I never did really love that rifle, primarily the stock. Over last years Black Friday and Cyber sales, I was able to get all components (including ADG brass) at really good deals, so I went 7PRC. Mr. Longtine has seen the 7PRC and I have just started shooting it and it is really looking good (162gr bullets at 2977fps with no pressure signs). I am happy with the PRC loads and will shoot some 175s this week. I do think the 7SAUM is very efficient and a fantastic cartridge. I can always have a barrel chambered if I have to scratch the itch.............

Yes it is!!
N565. Same accuracy but 75 fps faster or so but the temp sensitivity is key with the RL23 and the advantage it has.

I've got a 7 RSAUM and really like the cartridge. I think it's one of the best balanced cartridges in terms of powder capacity and velocity as well as accuracy.
Mine is in a Remington XP-100 due in part to case length. If I were to do one on a rifle, I'd likely choose the 7 PRC, again in part due to case length.
I've only shot 150/162/168 grain bullets from mine, so I can't speak to velocity with 180's.
I like them both and have a hard time understanding why the 7 SAUM didn't become more mainstream.

I know it doesn't matter that much to you since you have the ability and tools to replace barrels, but do you see any increased throat errosion with N565 over the RL23?
Yes, N565 is just like all the 500 series V powders. They eat the throats. If you want a barrel to last and still have good velocity then go with RL23 for sure. If I were you then I would for sure use the RL23.

I'll make it easy for ya, this is the last load work I did for a guys rifle I did. This is a proof barrel with a FB of 0.160". This is 0.003" into lands fyi. I show into lands as positive and off lands as negative for your future reference.
