SOLD/EXPIRED Midway BR4 Small Rifle Primers

WRONG. This same exact thing happened back in 2008. Are you so young that you were not around then?Or did you just forget?

Back in 2008, basic every day M4 AR15s were selling for $4,000-$5,000 and primers for $200-$300 per 1K at businesses that were price gouging even though the price of components from manufacturers never increased. After all the morons quit buying at those prices, the stores had an excess surplus they couldn't get rid of and the prices came back down to normal at around $600-$800 for an AR15 and $35-$40 per 1K for primers. The businesses who stayed honest and didn't price gouge thru the frenzy buying did just fine in the long run and are still running today because people stayed loyal to the businesses that didn't try to screw them over. All the price gouging businesses went tits up shortly after the frenzy because nobody would buy from them anymore knowing they were ripping everyone off. I know for a fact that CCI or any other company is still only charging stores $20-$30 per 1K of primers wholesale price so don't let these idiots fool you. And also let this be a warning to any business out there price gouging to rip off fellow shooters in our community. Your days as a business will come to an abrupt end when this is all over.
I agree. Been thru this 3 times already and eventually they come back to more reasonable prices. This is insane and Midway leads the pack with price gouging.

yeah i misspoke on that. Just everyone that thinks every place is gouging gets old. I run a business and this past year i watched our average wage go up over 20%. Once the wage is set, it usually does not come back down. I agree that Midway has went up an overly amount, but i see it happening in lots of places here in Missouri just to get help to help get orders out. If they aren't paying more to have help, then the public will gripe that the shipping is too slow. The BR4 primers on just about every site on the net has them at $129.99 or higher. It is what it is and I really don't see it turning around.
Well its your problem you are paying them so much. I never in 70 years got a 20% wage hike.

It is what it is because people panic and pay it, just like toilet paper 2 years ago.
Were our own worst enemy.
I guarantee you nobody bought one stinking primer for a month they would go in the toilet.
Brunos is a prime example sell 20,000 packs for 2700.00.
Guarantee you most are going on gunbroker for 250.00 a 1,000.
Its simple you contribute to the mess or you dont.
BR4's were 48.00 and on sale at PV for 38.00 July 24 2018

Correct. These idiots are buying at these prices because they think they will never be available again. Funny though. The price of toilet paper never went up and I didn't see anyone paying $10 a roll when it was available.

I remember when powder and primers were nowhere and Leddslinger was selling his primers and powder out of his personal inventory at old price to help people out. That was a very generous thing he did. I'm sure he doesn't regret it but probably didn't think things were going to go the way they have either. I agree with him that if people would slow down the price would come down a little. But when the stores are still selling out at whatever price why not keep the price up

You can justify it all you want, your part of the solution or part of the problem.

Hey I got in on that, lol seems like things are getting cheaper on g.b. And more available at store, if a guys barrel was about to go cold, I'd only buy enough to run awhile, either something new we spark up or they will come on down another $20-30/k

Thank you for the kind words. It wasn't much but I hope it helped those people out. I sold about 15,000 primers and 15 lbs of powder and quite a few bullets from my inventory to help folks out. Charged $50 per 1K on primers and $30 per lb on powder. Which is a little more money than what I paid for them originally but I had to cover some fuel costs to deliver them or meet people face to face locally.

Actually there were people reselling TP at prices close to that. I would say it's hard to believe but it's not. That's how sh*tty some people are. Pun intended I guess

I just bought some brass online that I haven't been able to find in a while. 500 available and price was very fair but I only needed 100. Could have bought it all and hoarded it for myself or resold at high prices for a profit, but I only bought the 100 cases I needed. Curbing the prices is as simple as that folks. Nothing complicated about it.

I would also like to add that people who post about availability of components on public forums is one of the worst things they could do. I know they may not be smart enough or experienced enough to understand why and think they are just helping, but they are only making things worse. It's not a good service, but actually a complete "disservice" to everyone as a whole.

If a person really needs a certain component, they will put in the due diligence day in and day out until they find it somewhere. Whether or not they find it at a fair price is a different story of course. But when a person posts availability of components in a classified ad like this, every hoarder and shark looking to buy and resell to price gouge sees the same thing. And the people who are price gouging with a lot of money at their disposal won't hesitate a second to go and buy up every bit they can to resell at high prices. These ads might help a couple honest people out, but they do not help anyone at all in the long run when the hoarders and gougers are getting the same heads up.

Even at those high prices for BR4 primers shown at midway, a price gouger will still buy them and resell for an extra $50-$100 profit. So think about that before you go posting about where to find components when there's hoarding and price gouging going on.

Well we all have our own opinion. a True reseller uses a bot to find the in stock supplies, that are worth reselling… some people get to work all day not "put their due diligence day in and day out". Again one opinion then another…p.s. midways has now had some kind of small rifle primer in stock for some time now, even the BR held up for a day or two if I'm not mistaken….
