Hornady recently announced a new monolithic bullet called the CX. It looks pretty promising for those who like these style bullets or have to use them do to game laws. I hadn't seen it shared on LRH yet so I thought I'd pass on the news. From the videos they put out and the description, the CX appears to be a higher BC and improved Hornady GMX.

Looks interesting. I'm not a mono fan but they look like a good mono if that's what your into/have to use. It would be interesting to see what the going price for them is

I'm pretty sure these are less aerodynamic than the GMXs. IIRC the G1 of the 270 130gr GMX was .460. The CX is advertised as .4. Likewise the lighter 7mm bullet was .48 and is now .43. Maybe its just Hornady adjusting their BC to be more accurate, but that seems like a huge drop. Hopefully these will open up easier, the GMXs needed a lot more speed than about any other mono.

You are correct, the 139gr GMX was listed with a higher BC of 0.486. What I also noticed and find odd is that the 150gr GMX was listed with a BC of 0.464, you'd thing the 150gr would have a higher BC.

The 139gr CX shows a BC of 0.429 and the 150gr CX at 0.455, both lower than their older versions. 🤔

Ho-ernady should have called it the VX bullet for the 'cine shot they were forcing on their employees

this bullet is undoubtedly their attempt to hitch a $cash$ ride on the popularity & effectivenes of the Barnes TTSX bullet

Most likely the old GMX BCs were inflated and the CX ones are more accurately lower.

Personally I would have preferred to see a higher BC version like the LRX.
