2019 Hunting Plans?

Hunting elk in Northeast Utah with my 338 Win Mag again this fall, assuming my ankle heals (broke it 6 weeks ago) and I can get in shape before the season begins. Regular shooting at 1,000 yards with my 6xc as soon as that range opens again.

I heard Dracula still lives in Translovenia, who want to go on an adventure hunt with me to uncover the mystery beast lurking in the dark.

If you boys were cast bullet casters/shooters.....problem solved! Cast a few silver bullets! You will not have to get within reach of the "Count"! Though I think I'd smear a little garlic on the bullets for additional insurance!! ;) memtb

Putting in for Elk and mule deer draws in Idaho with my son who is returning from New Zealand this summer. If no draw - Idaho Archery for Elk and Mule deer then off to Alaska this fall for Moose with the bow with my 2 high school buddies. After that, it will be chukar hunting behind my english pointers and shooting mallards when not chasing upland birds.

Also building points in WY for a group antelope hunt with my 2 sons their best friend and his dad - will be a blast in a few years.

Man I hope my wife does not see this list of hunting, she does not notice how much I hunt when it is spread out.

If I'm lucky I will be hunting my friends ex girlfriends parents farm in Farmington, Missouri. Ya it's exactly how it sounds, a mess. Actively looking for a lease around St. Louis, Missouri. 3 years no luck or I'd have to sell my truck for a year lease.

Wyoming antelope with 9 other family members including 4 grandkids ages 4 months to 5 years. We all have doe tags (some of us have two) and we 'rent out the west wing of the hotel'. We have several ranchers that let us take does off their hay circles. None have asked for money for the does but we give them $50 for each one we take. Makes for goodwill. I'll probably use my .257 Roberts/110AB @ 3163fps again.

Colorado 3rd Rifle for antlered elk with Daughter #1, her hubby and maybe his brother, who is in the Navy. Daughter #1 also has a private land either-sex deer tag.

Colorado 4th Rifle for cow elk. Same company as for 3rd Rifle.

Not sure which rifles will go elk hunting, but I usually take two. Probably my .300WM w/ 175g LRX for one, about 3000fps. The other is more of a question - .280 Rem, 7mm RM, .30-06, or .338WM. All will work out to 600 yards, the limit of my practice and therefore my maximum range.

Family freezers are out of elk so we hope to fill them up. I think most of the deer is gone as well - I know the last buck I shot has been gone for a while. Everyone still has antelope, which is our favorite.

When we refill our freezer, anything that doesn't fit goes to friends or, most of it, to Denver Rescue Mission.

Whitetail in eastern Oklahoma. Still haven't gotten one after 12 hunting days over the last few years. Finally live closer to the family hunting grounds so I should be able to hunt more this year. Picked a new spot further away from where my dad and uncles always set up so hopefully I'll see some deer. Had planned on hunting with a new lightweight 6.5 Grendel I built, but I'm going to use my .270 for continuity with:

My first Elk hunt in Wichita Mountains. Super excited. Cow tag. No clue what I'm doing.
