Your Ultimate 500 Yard Rig

They are fun to hang out with...I turned 43 a few months ago..I feel like the old wise one. They are hunting fools--and put the time in--I just love the way they talk about equipment--"I have been running xxxx" or when they harvest a animal.."oh you stoned that deer"...I'm just glad there is another generation of hunters just as Passionate as I am, and they will carry on the tradition. Even though they don't know how to put a proper cruve on a bill of a cap.

Cheers! 10/1975 here!

Yeah... I think it would turn out pretty amazing. One of my weaknesses is taking awesome wood stocks and just plastering "memories" all over them in the woods.
Bro Mance developin in the low clown cover, back too you Bob, at nine.

Thank you for the advice...But even the cases he fire forms with the Cream Of Wheat do the same thing.....
I just went through something similar, my problem was weakened brass where the old shoulder was. I needed to anneal the brass (shoulder and a small portion down the case) prior to fire forming, and using a COW load that formed the new shoulder about 90%.

So so. 12 so far. I am getting a little better at it. Killed a couple with my bow too.

I primarily hunt deer and elk etc with a bow so I don't have a need for a cannon at this point. I've been building my own savage action based rifles for a while so I know I can swap barrels quick which puts me in a better position for a multiple caliber platform. I have a mdt chassis rifle that weighs 12 lbs with a nf nxs, long action, proof 28", 6.5-284. I have a 7mag barrel for it if I need more horsepower I suppose

Very impressive. I'm a huge fan of the 6.5-284. Have one in Cooper's Timberline model and also shoot a Gap4s. If there is ever a good prospect of getting on a wolf plz consider me. We can work out your compensation needs.

...killed 12?.. dude, that is hammering them. Congratulations. Do you use bait or how do you locate?

Many thanks, I'll have him try that. He's all but given up on it. It's on a Pro Hunter 28"bbl that was a .243.

I think my custom built would be a perfect choice:

Tikka T3 Lite stainless (left hand), Benchmark #3 stainless fluted barrel finished at 25 3/4", 1:9 5R chambered in .280 AI SAAMI, McMillan Ultralight Hunters Edge, other titanium mods, Atlasworxs aluminum trigger guard, DNZ Game Reaper one piece aluminum scope mount (low),
Swarovski Z3 3 1/2 x 18 x 44 BT 4W with 3" modified sunshade (Primary Arms), KG Gun Kote black satin finish on all, Spartan Javelin carbon ultra light bipod. HBN coated Barnes 168 LRX @2950 and 145 LRX @3100 for deer and smaller food

Spot and stalk and call. Can't bait here. They are super hard to hunt. My buddy is an outfitter and he get his clients on them but it's alsways a huge gamble. I went out today and found a fresh kill but couldn't locate the pack. They had to be in the area but then again they could be 20 miles away

Brent,
Yes, completely understand. They are the toughest critter out there to kill. Keep after them !
