300 HULK

Hi there,
Aiming to get 3000 fps with 230-240 blts I am looking for infos about the 300HULK.
I tried to get in touch with Tom Sarver at Thunder Valley, without any result so far.
For the reamer I understand that it is necessary the permission of Tom, but it seems to be very hard, at least for me (I'm from Italy).
Is anyone able to give me infos about this version?
Is that obtained by a 338NORMA case fire formed into the new chambering?

No love for the .300RUM? I get 3068fps from a 230 Berger over Retumbo in mine.

3085 over N570 with the 230 in my 300 RUM

RUM or Norma will do it easily.

Fire form 300 Norma Magnum Brass. The Hulk is basically the 300NM with the shoulder set out to a different angle. I don't remember what the angle is off the top of my head. I have one but I am shooting the 210s at 3200 with retumbo.

300 JAZZ will do the same thing as the 300 HULK. The Jazz is a 30 degree shoulder, the Hulk is 35 degrees.
The Norma brass is evry bit as good as the Lapua in this caliber.

Norma brass is sub par at best . Peterson is a huge step up.

All I have to say is Lapua Brass for the Norma... I'm running a 300 Norma with a 27in Bartlien 8 twist getting 2987fps with the 230 SMK over 85.7 gr Retumbo.

I doing 3,005fps with a 225 grain ELD-M in a 24.5 in barrel with a regular 300 Norma mag, norma brass and norma MRP...BC on that bullet is .777--I know if it is what you want great--but seems like a lot of work for a little extra.

As others have said, a 300 RUM or a 300NM will accomplish what you want with far less brass work. My 230 load runs 2970fps from a 27" barrel with Norma brass. Peterson brass seems to be holding up very well to pressure. A guy on the Hide listed a load in the Reloading Depot section running 3100fps w/ a 230 Berger with Peterson brass.

I experienced the 300 RUM some years ago, but even with differents powders it did'nt repeat at the very first change of air pressure and humidity.
Maybe I did'nt find the right recipe for...
Anyway, I think the 300NM is a better design and the improved version (HULK or JAZZ) are even more efficient.
I'll go ahead with the search.
