28 Nosler 195 Berger vs. New 180 ELDM

I've got a Ryan Pierce 28 Nosler rifle shooting the 195s. He's beginning to recommend N570 because R33 is such a dirty powder. I've finally found a load for my rifle. It's 79.8 grains of N570, .025 jump and the brass necks turned to .015. I guess my chamber is a little snug. I wasn't able to push a new bullet into a fired case. The end of the brass was almost crimped. My velocity and bullets were flinging all over the target. 3" at 400 yards was the rifles best before neck turning. Now I'm around an inch at 400.
 
Scratch that. I guess I'm still looking for a load with the 195s. I just got some H1000 and a box of the 180 ELDM's. Hopefully before I burn the barrel up, I'll find a load that's consistent. Right now it'll shoot 1" at 400 for 4-5 rounds, then fling one 6" high and then another one 3" low. Velocity spreads of 100fps measured with a magneto speed.

Are giving your barrel enough time to cool. A hot barrel can cause what ur describing
 
Anyone shooting the 195s in a 28 with a standard throat? What velocity are you getting and best powders? Apologies if this has already been asked

Hornady standards would make a berger 195 (.387) a ~.42 g7 bc.

This is general assuming with 8" twist, I don't know exact numbers.

Not sure I agree with what you said. What numbers are you using with both bullets and what were the results?

Also what's the distance you are testing them?

I researched and used other data.

7mm ELD-M 180 grains G7 BC. Cited info was from (Ballistic Performance of Rifle Bullets 3rd ed by Bryan Litz)

I got to play with 180eldm out of a 284 win @ 2680fps (3.29" coal, .08" off lands) out to ~1450yards once and was ~1 Moa high with ~1.5 Moa vertical group, 3 shot. The 24" #3 Mcgowen barrel, 8" twist, was hot from previous shooting at closer range. No hard data.

Is the G7 bc 100% accurate? I don't know. Wind was 10-15mph.
 
I think if you search on here, you will find many have shot these long range. What i gather is that most feel the BC is correct. I may have misinterpreted their post, so read them yourself. I've shot over 200 of them out to 1100 yards. The 180s and 195 are the only bullets that my 28 has fired. To me they are as advertised.

I used .750 in a 9.5 twist 7mm rem mag on Thursday and I was good to 1000 yards. Im at 575 ft.


Can you post the same numbers for the 195?
