    Berger HUNTING Bullets

I appreciate all the comments, input, just a short update since my post- This cow was shot the other day with a 7mm, 180 VLD at 240 yards. You are looking at the exit wound, placed just behind front shoulder, cow was picture perfect broadside and was hammered, like a clinic on exactly...

    Lone Peak Custom Actions

These guys are beyond legit, actions are unreal, machine quality is the best I have seen. I bought one of the early titanium actions and couldn't be more happy... I wanted to build a lightweight 300 RUM hunting rifle and not only did I get lightweight I got a 1/4 MOA tack driver, so stoked with...

    Berger HUNTING Bullets

I really don't want to argue about bullets, I have nothing to gain other than I hope maybe one of my fellow hunters can avoid the pain and misery I have went through. I spend way to much time to have bullet failure. I'm just going to tell you my opinions, some facts and why I think Berger VLD...

Anyone know any of the details on the new manners stocks releasing this year at SHOT?? I am going to be in the market for a new thumbhole for a build, they won't tell me much on the phone except there is a new slimmer CF thumbhole being released and wait til after the show??? I just hope its not...

    Lightweight Thumbhole Stock

I will definitely have a break, have not decided which one but I defiantly will need one and a quality one at that.....I appreciate all the replies and help! I have shot a fair amount of lightweight ultra mags, 30-378's etc...and why I do believe they all usually give you a good wallup... To...

    Lightweight Thumbhole Stock

I'm just about ready to begin working on my first lightweight hunting rifle...the days of packing heavy rifles for miles are done for me... Getting weak I guess :) Carbon Fiber...space age materials are fairly new to me in conjunction with rifles... Until the last few years I gave little...

Measuring Bullet Seating off the Lands

Most of my reloading career I have more or less went off recomended COAL. Im working up some loads with Berger 185 VLD's and having little luck in getting them to group very well out of my Sendero 300RUM. I have had the same luck with heavier VLD's and want to give them an honest effort as I...

    Anyone using Cosine Indicator?

Im just wanting to hear some thoughts on the cosine indicator from Sniper Tools. It looks like a great product, Im a little unclear on how it works though exactly. For me, I really dont want to take a pocket pc in the field and im a little unsure what exactly you do with just a calculator...

    Retrieving downed animals

I have had to leave animals over night, more or less becuase of location, lack of help, etc. I hate to have to do it, (it seems like all I do is worry about it if I do) but if done properly, it never seems to be a problem to the meat IMHO. I have always quartered them out, to hang if leaving...

    Black cloud

I used it hunting geese a number of times and was impressed on the wound channels in created. To me, though its overkill, especially over decoys with birds coming towards you. I dont want pencil size holes in everything I shoot. But i think it has its place.

    New .243 opinions on load

I am not sure if this question goes here, but I'll ask anyways- A buddy is building a .243 with a 26" Shilen Barrel 1:8 Twist. He is leaning toward shooting a 105 Berger. Just wondering if someone shoots something similar, maybe some load suggestions to get started. There is a bunch of...
