22-250,204,220 swift. Out to 350 yards which would you choose. Shooting in normally wind from 0-8 mph. I'd be shooting animals not groups but groups is also considered

Depends on what kind of critters you are shooting. For coyote/bobcat and smaller you cannot beat the .204, especially if you are shooting them on the run.

Farther than that the Swift is the best of the bunch.

I own both the .204 BTW and have killed large hogs with it out to 300yds but you have got to be capable of putting it exactly in the right spot to shoot anything bigger than a coyote and expect a one shot kill.

Factory ammo and the swift are the same velocity, in some instances the Swift is slower.
I shoot the Swift a lot but if I were you I would get the 22-250 as factory ammo and brass is easier to find and less expensive
I like things that are old or odd and the swift has that draw for me

My vote is 22-250.

At your ranges agree also with going slow twist. 50gr blitzkings, Vmaxs, NBTs are bad medicine for small varmints up to coyote size. I haven't yet loaded for a 22-250 that was super-picky, either. Could be luck but I view it as a generally accurate and forgiving cartridge.

While you "can" load them for larger game, my opinion is you are better-off stepping up to 6mm or larger if bigger critters will be in the crosshairs.

Owning both the 22-250 and 204 I would have to say I would choose the 22-250. Small rodents will not know the difference. The plus with the 22-250 is you can load some 62 gr nosler partitions or Barnes and have a very capable deer and hog round.

If you are going for factory ammo & rifles get the 204 & shoot 40s, it will have better ballistics than the Swift or 22-250 at distance.

If not get either the Swift, 22-250 or 22-250ai & put a fast 1-8 twist on it & shoot the 53 V-max or 75-80 Amax if you want to go further.

My 22 Terminator, 22-204, will push the 53 Vmax at 3700 & 75 Amax at 3200.

I have owned and hunted all three.. I still have the 22-250.. I think for what your looking all three would work. The 22-250 is so common and easy to find ammo and reloading supplies for.. In my state here we can deer hunt with .224 caliber so if your state is the same both the 250 and swift could pull double duty for you..
Good luck and have fun with it..

I would consider 1-8 to be fast twist on a 22-250 or a 220 swift. For the 75 Amax this would be needed. For 55gr or less (cup and core) something much slower will do. At 350 yards max I would recommend going slow-twist (assuming this is a varmint set-up).

Common slow twists for 22-250 are 1-12 or 1-14. My 1-14 stabilizes all 55grainers I have thrown at it (no copper solids or v-grenades tried).
