I am new to reloading and and just recently purchased everything to get into it. However I am having a hard time finding brass right now. I was looking to get Nosler or Norma but cannot seem to find it anywhere right now. What would be my next best option?

Also I will be working up a load for a Remington 5r 300 win mag w/24" barrel. I plan on trying out the Berger 230gr Hybrid OTM and the 215 hybrid as well using H1000.

Welcome aboard. We are all in the same boat right now. The great hoarding is on after all the gun ban politics of the last several weeks. It will settle down in a few months.

The Rem 300WM brass is pretty darn good. Some of my cases have taken a pretty good beating and are still useable. I actually load for the 26" version of the same rifle. It loves 215 bergers with H 4831sc and CCI 250s in Rem brass. I think H1000 is better suited for the longer barrels of at least 27". I had trouble getting low ES and top velocity with it in my 5r. However, I have had good luck with Retumbo and 230s

So would you recommend Winchester, Remington or Hornady as my next search?

If you can't find any RWS, LAPUA, then yes in that order. My opinion, I have and load for 3 win mags in my safe.

There is some new Remington listed in the classifieds by another member.

I've loaded both Win and Rem brass in the 300 WM, and lately ( last couple years) the Rem brass has been way more consistent than the Win. The Win brass varied about 10 grains per bag, will the Rem varied only about 2-3 grains.

Can you load rws brass with as much powder as say the nosler brass. I have 100 RWS so just checking
Thanks

I use CCI BR2's with win brass using 79.5 gr of h1000 under a 208 gr Amax. I think Fed Match 215's might be a better choice especially with the 230 OTM. Most people get to about 2750 or so FPS with the 230 OTM and amazing accuracy. At that speed the 230 OTM has plenty of steam past 1500 yards.

I will switch the 208 gr amax to my 308 and switch to the 230 OTM for my win mag.

I was compressing loads at 76.5 gr of h1000 in RWS brass. I can get almost 80 gr in my win brass.

I have been looking for some once fired LC brass but after the hysteria of recent all once fired brass is long gone.
