A good accurate concealed carry pistol

Looking for another pistol to carry. I've always been a 1911 40-45 guy but keeping them concealed isn't easy lol. Just looking to see what some of you suggest.

If accuracy is a prerequisite……then high capacity shouldn't be needed…..unless expecting multiple (as in many) targets!

Consider a thin (single stack), lighter (polymer based frame), semi-auto.

The thin, single stack is easier to conceal and lighter makes it more comfortable……think "inside waistband carry"!

If you're concerned about needing more bullets placed downrange…..get 2 additional magazines and wear on the opposite side. This gives you plenty of ammo, unless expecting an extended firefight, which is where you really need a long gun. The 2 magazines, also being thin are also easy to conceal…..plus their added loaded weight will help balance the weight of the firearm!

Pretty fond of my Springfield XDS, 45 ACP…..my only carry gun for many years! memtb

Being a 1911 guy, I have an officer's model 45, a Kimber carry pro 2 as well as many other full size 1911s in both 45 and 400 Corbon.
But my go to carry pistol is a Springfield XDS in 45. It is slimmer, lighter and works well as a carry gun.

Remember the 1.5-2.0 second rule on getting your gun out of the holster and on target.

Bad guys(gangs) are 4 or more. Your 6 shooters may last 3 seconds or less.

I recently read a study of actual gunshot analysis over many years(two decades). The conclusion was that multiple hits from smaller caliber handguns were more effective than a single larger caliber, including 22 RF, which was shocking.

Haven't seen much love for the XDME?

I have a 10mm compact that I've been thinking of packing when in town.

I just did a bit of research on them…….looks like one heck of a handgun!

A bit more than this old man wants to wear for all day wear…..but, for a young man like yourself, it should be one heck of a defense package! memtb

43X with night sights is my day to day carry piece, I love my G17 but it's a bit more to tote around and conceal.

Believe it or not I also love and dote on my Kel-Tec PMR-30 (223 mag with "defense loads"), love to carry it, love to shoot it my all time fav handgun to work with! And the factory trigger and sights are nervana! Seems to me that even Cooper liked the 22 mag for personal defense....

I grew up shooting 1911's, started when I was 8 or 9 or so. G-pa loved the 1911. For me I like it, but the bugger is a bit heavy.

I kinda regret getting the compact version. Yes, it's much easier to conceal but that 10 has a pretty good bark. I had to get the 15 round mag so it'd fit my hand, but at that rate probably would have been better off with a longer barrel, too.
