Remington 700 value?

Yes, the receiver gets the S/N when fabricated because it has to be tracked per GCA. I am curious if there are any symbols/codes/marks on the left or right side of the barrel at the receiver. If there is a. proof mark it may indicate who mounted the barrel, Remington or Dakota. The end cap on your rifle may be a dull red and if it is that is probably the Custom Shop indication.

I don't believe RemArms doesn't have the records available. They received everything in the factory and all intellectual property associated with the plant in Ilion. I believe that RemArms has taken the position of not providing any information on Remington Arms rifles since they accepted no liability for those firearms. In the case of your rifle (or mine for that matter) there is no warranty nor is there any liability.

I'm not an expert on Remington values but I doubt that being a custom shop model in this case adds much value beyond the benefit of having that barrel and being a 257. Had the stock been solid walnut than who knows.

The B-Triangle sounds like a proof mark but it is not a Remington Arms Proof. At least that's my opinion. It would be interesting if someone has a Dakota Arms rifle (Before Bankruptcy) and can provide info.

This is what I found on the b diamond. But no indication on where it was assembled

Too a hunter one price, too a collector another price, the art of the deal is, what ever they'll give you, and what you'll take. Nice rifle. Cheers.

Looks like it may be a magnuflux mark and if so then the rifle has no proof mark. It doesn't mean that it wasn't tested but there is no way to know. In the US firearms are not legally required to be proofed.

I have a 26"long 1" bull barrel 7-08 with what looks like the same stock. I don't remember when I bought it but I think it was before 1999. It has the nice blueing and is a tack driver out to 300 yds. I've never shot it any further.
