Hammer bullet for short range bear hunting

Well here is my actual experience using a 308Win 20" carbon barrel shooting a 150 gr Badlands Precision 150 gr BD at 2920 fps on a 600 lbs Alaskan Coastal Black Bear. Bear was walking away through tall grass at a 25-30 degree angle from me. I could see him though a 10" or so hole in the grass. Had to estimate where his chest was and hit him at 175 yds quartering. We recovered the bullet under the hide on the opposite left side at the base of the neck. Estimated penetration was 30-32" diagonally through the chest with entrance hole at about 1" back of the right rib cage. Bullet still had all the petals but 1/2 of them had cracked close to the base, so the petals were fully deployed though out the bullet travel. He took one step and dropped, bleeding from his nose as he fell. We caped and quartered him. Did not open the chest. Guide, who refused to let people use other copper bullets was very impressed. Pics show the Bear and the bullet, and location on a chart where the hunt took place. The third pic is the old avalanche site we got the Bear in about 2/3 up from the water level. We were about 1 mile downstream from a glacier.
Outstanding job! Beautiful bear and beautiful scenery!

How about starting a new thread:

"How to derail and hijack a thread with one's own personal
company interests, alpha opinions and alpha values???"

This is one of the most disgusting threads that I have ever
followed on this forum. Nothing but bickering like a bunch of
"old bittys"

And...over nothing but useless BS for the OP's question and thread.
The OP is asking a simple question: "What would be a good bullet for
up close bear hunting in Canada?"

We're now on page 14, with 187 replies and less than half of
them relate to, or address the OP's question. This shouldn't be hard. I'm done following it,
I had an interest; however, it has now turned into being ridiculous!!!!!
I'm surprised that Len hasn't jumped in and stopped responses to the thread.

I'm a bit curious about the people advocating light for caliber bullets in this thread for bear and how they are easy to kill. I will say that I haven't done any out west hunting but here in PA our black bear tend to be pretty hard to put down sometimes. They are hardy. I wouldn't be comfortable with less than 150 for standard bullets in the .308, though that opinion could change depending on bullet performance but I also don't think I would be comfortable with a bullet designed to expand rapidly or "petal" out.

I remember an Alka-Seltzer commercial a few years ago. It suggested, "Try it. You'll like it."

There is a guy testing Hammer bullets A LOT. From reading his experiences I get the idea he kills more stuff in a month than I do in a decade. Recently he used a hammer Hunter 124 grain on a water buffalo with fantastic results. Therefore, I suggest you consider using other's experiences to learn rather than only your own only.

Then I must ask. Sir, why are you still here if you are no longer interested? You have the option of "unwatch". That would end your suffering over this thread. You could even option not to open it. I, however, have gathered a wealth of inadvertent knowledge from the discourse here.

That is the guy I ask. There isn't a better source of knowledge on the planet then a dude smoke checking critters all day and reporting his findings. Angle, distance, velocity, terminal ballistics, game reaction, etc. Gel tests render themselves child's folly compared to this testing procedure! 😆

You do know that quotation marks are used to quote something someone said don't you? Nowhere in his post did he say what you quoted.
