What is the best money you have spent on the shooting sport and why?

This may not be acceptable by some as a proper answer to thd OP's question….but, I think that it is relevant!

In 1985, I took a substantial pay cut with a job relocation to Wyoming. I had to learn a completely different set of job skills, and learn a completely different way of life.……things here in Wyoming are a bit different than in Louisiana.

For these sacrifices I got, almost unlimited public land to shoot, at distances way beyond that which someone can shoot with anything short of a Cruise Missile. It also afforded me the opportunity to hunt many animals that I had dreamed of hunting ever since I was a young kid! It also provided virtually unlimited hiking, camping, and sightseeing opportunities!

Over the years, the financial losses where more than made up for and the shooting remains available…..even if I didn't take advantage of it!

I guess that you could say, "the money I initially lost was the best money that I spent on shooting sports"! 😉 memtb

Have you seen the price of crawfish this year? Ouch…..they rival buying eggs! 🤬 memtb
No not lately, and when you mentioned Okra that brought back such delicious memories of my Great Grandmothers delicious meals! She would get her feelings hurt if you didn't eat All that she prepared🤪 "Gramuh I just ate that whole chicken and the pot of Okra there's no room to eat that sweet taiter pie" 😅
Thanks for mentioning that, wonderful memories!

after thinking about it… I gotta say moving to Wyoming for me too. I used to live in WI and 300 yds used to be a "long shot" aside from a few stories of farmland hunters shooting across a 40. Living in the cowboy state has presented opportunities to shoot and hunt in ways many people never do. I can rattle off rifles and gear that I sure enjoy but without coming to the most sparsely populated state I likely never would have taken shooting to the same degree.
