Single point cut rifling I'd imagine based on the context of him talking about button rifling as well. He's correct in that it doesn't introduce stress the way pulling a button through does. The button displaces steel whereas cut rifling removes steel.

I am doing my first CF barrel, Proof. It is a 22-250, 26" 1-8 twist. Very light for a heavy contour 26" barrel. A few ozs over 3 lbs. Not put together yet, but everything looks and feels great so far. I am sure it will shoot very well also.

Sorta, going with the 70 HH for all things not varmint. Hogs and culling does will be the primary workload for the 70s. 55 gr SP/hollow point for the little furry digging critters and all related mammals.
I think the common 1-10 or 1-12 TW for factory 22-250s is very restrictive as far as bullet weights. No surprises to anyone in that statement. Not that I am going heavy necessarily but just don't want to be stuck with 55-60 gr +- as the heaviest I can shoot. Berger shows the 75 VLD as about max for the 1-8 in their line of bullets.
Not sure on the velocities yet, still in the works.

I think it's 1/14 for 22-250. I tried 60gr Vmax once and keyhole. 55 was it. 70HH ought to change the color on their mood ring!

I figured they had to be good quality or they wouldn't have been around long as they have been. I remember when I was a kid and wanting to build a rifle, I ordered a catalog from them. I also had one from Bishop stocks. I wore those out reading them over and over.

I used Douglas 2 years ago ,to build a 25-284 I have no regrets, turn around was less than a month . The year before I built a 6.5 PRC with a Bartlein ,turn around 8 months . Both barrels shoot really well , I prefer Bartlein cut 5 r rifling , but not sure it's worth the wait .

Douglas...... All my build's are Douglas. One of the best custom rifle builder ever, used only Douglas barrels. And quick turnaround. You would make a mistake not using them.

Is it normal to not see one tooling mark in a premium barrel?

I like my barrels that start with B… so I would add benchmark to include their carbon fiber barrels. However, I just bought my first Mullerworks 22 barrel for my 22 GT. I'm curious to see how it does. Also I just got some barrels in from patriot valley arms. These are button rifle barrels, so I will see how they shoot also. I have already installed a 7/6.5 PRCW on a Origin Med

I'm having my old Rem 700 270win sent in for a make over. The action will be trued and a new barrel will be fitted. I'm about 90% confident that I'm going with a 270ai, 1-8 twist, 26" , light Palma (or similar) contour. This will be a hunting rifle.

I've got a semi custom rem 700 SA in 223 with a 1-7 Bartlein. It is a blast (pun intended)

Loyalty runs in my bones, so originally I was going with a Bartlein, but I decided to consult the Oracle. What do you guys think?

Price, availability, lead time, and performance are all factors. Performance is king though.

Excellent choice in chambering and barrel twist rate. There is only a handful of us, .270 AI owners, here, and that is just how I like it. You have plenty of barrel choices (including pre-fits), and nothing wrong with staying loyal to Bartlein. If you go 1:7", it will narrow it down to only three that I know now.

I went with a 30" SS Lilja 1:8" 3-groove Sendero contour .270 AI. It has been a shooter and hardly fouls; very easy to clean.

I am very pleased with it and went with Lilja again on my .30 LARA (27", 3-groove 1:9").
