Just a question from someone who can't

Nah, that's just how you get that high-speed operator patina on it.
LOL. People look at my can and wonder what happened to it. I say well it's not a safe queen buddy. Plus I get the battle worn and distress paint look without the expensive cerakote process. Which I've also done btw. Ha Ha

I need to clean out my .22 cal gemtech can, what would be a good way to go about that if I dont have a sonic cleaner?
Gemtech may have a manual on that. It's serviceable you'll break it down and soak with cleaner etc. Non serviceable is going to be a plug one and soak. CLR, foaming cleaner, solvent etc.

Appreciate that BrentM. It is non-serviceable. I'll snag some CLR and get her cleaned up.

Just knuckle up and get the $85 sonic cleaner from Harbor Freight, it's something I use all the time. Gun parts, brass cases, car parts, hand tools, old pocket change, wife's earrings, my class ring, dentures, it's great for all of them. Maybe don't mix and match the wife's jewelry with the suppressor at the same time, but it's a dead useful tool.

True, problem is I'm a low speed, high drag hunter that likes to keep things looking nice because im a nerd like that haha. I do love that the cerakote on my go-to predator rifle is starting to wear off on the high spots. A good sign its spending time in the field.

See now the direction I go is I don't give a crap about my can but I use a neoprene scope cover. My suppressor can easily be cerakoted and is titanium so it's tough, unlike my scope which can be damaged pretty easy.

My scope has most of an entire roll of leg wrap on it, that stuff is great for scopes, forearms, cheek risers, pretty much anything except the suppressors. Would be a smoke show after about 4 shots.

Still be beneficial/effective to sonic clean if its a non-serviceable can?
