Buy once cry once new optic - seeking experienced advice

Taking the plunge soon. Subscribing to the adage: Buy once, cry once. Whittling down options in a new higher end optic, and a ZCO caught my eye. Anyone own one or have experience with Zero Compromise? Scares the bejeezers outta me to spend that much on good glass, but know quality glass is king--especially for my old peepers. Also in the mix are Leup Mk5HD, Steiner T5Xi, March FX, and Kahles 624i. Would love a TT but not sure I could get that past The Wife without a hot tongue and a cold shoulder. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
I have been really happy with the Leupold mark V optics. They a bit heavy but the glass is good and the turrets and reticles are awesome. Zero stop, etc. for hunting I don't think anything more expensive would give you any additional advantage in actually harvesting game.

Zco and i used American rifle company rings so easy to mount and get scope level. Only downside is the weight

A lot of good information and comments in this thread so I'll just get to the point. Looked at a lot of scopes and ended up with a ZC527 on a Spuhr mount. In the end, it was an easy decision for me; ZC offered TT performance for $1000 less.
Exactly my conclusion is what prompted the thread--just trying to get my hands on one--may have to go visit Lance and take him reloading supplies🤣

I have been looking at and researching the ZCO scopes and will likely purchase one sometime down the road. I recently purchased a Kahles K624i on sale from EuroOptics for a lightweight 6.5CM package. I have been very pleased with the Kahles scope to date. I've only been able to shoot it out to 500 yards at this time but have no issues with clarity or turret adjustments. I have found the parallax adjustment to be easy to set and very close to the yardages on the dial. I mounted the scope with Near rail and Alphamount which worked great. The Near equiment is very well made. I have it on several long-range rifles and have never had any issues with mount movement. Richard is extremely helpful and will discuss the design and installation of his mounts in as much details as you need. I highly recommend Near mounts.

I think it all boils down to what you think looks best when looking through the glass. Also very important is what you plan on doing with the glass? Are you trying to shoot the balls off a gnat at 1500 yards, or will you be mainly hunting big game out to 500 yards? I would never spend $3500 on a scope for general big game hunting....there are just too many other good scopes in the $800 to $1500 dollar range that will perform extremely well. I recently purchased a leupold VX5HD 3x15x44 for a new Nosler model 21 rifle in 300 win mag. So far I really like the scope and it fits my needs to a T. It is important to get good quality glass, but think about it hard and match that to your needs without overspending for something you don't really need......good luck!

I've have Leupold Scopes for over 40 years. Only had one that gave me trouble. They repair it. I've found they still adjust as needed even the older scopes. I had other scopes over the years that wouldn't adjust if sitting around and not being used. At 8k I don't anybody been buying them. Out of my range for sure. I am not much into real high power scopes either. Field of view is really cut down.

Can someone please tell me why Nightforce is not considered? It used to be one of the best.
Other than being a bit on the heavy side they appear to perform well at long range.
What have I missed?
