I Hate Hammer Bullets!

There seems to be need for those who hate Hammer Bullets to have a place to vent. So, I decided it would be a good idea to make a place for that to happen. There is no need to hold back here. Let it out. Nobody has to be sly in starting threads that are anti Hammers by saying it is about more choices. Just let it out here. This is a safe place to do it. It is pretty evident that most who hate Hammer Bullets have not used them but have formed a hatred just the same. Let us know how you got this hatred. We don't learn anything about our bullets this way, but we might learn something about marketing. If there are those that hate Hammer Bullets that have used them, please post here. We do learn from these instances and will use that information to get better.

I have one rule for this thread. I do not want any satisfied Hammer users to post on this thread. I don't want anyone to stick up for Hammer Bullets. I am willing to take what comes here and I will monitor the thread and I will handle any defense needed. I don't want this to turn into one side vs the other and have the thread shut down due to infighting.

Let's go.

Steve ,

" Good Answer , I am gonna be watching you " - Sam Kinison quote to Rodney Daingerfield , in movie
BACK TO SCHOOL

I like your sense of humor .

Seriously , I have no iron in this fire . I like ALL bullets , unless they are flying in my direction !!!

I have reloaded and shot many different bullets from various manufacturers , and I have not yet found any that have not performed for their intended usage .

I have never seen any of your Hammer Bullets , except in photographs , but I am certain that you produce an excellent product .
If I were younger , and still had some hunting years left in my body , I am sure that I would be trying the Hammers .

I have read through many of these threads , with great amusement , of LRH members Praising and Bashing your Hammer Bullets , as well as ALL other manufacturers , Nosler , Berger , Barnes , Sierra , Speer , Lapua , Woodleigh , ... and the list goes on and on .

My honest opinion is that if ONLY 1 bullet design were manufactured in this world , by 1 company , with the same construction and ballistic coefficient for ALL different calibers from .17 all the way up to 37mm , and each caliber bullet was available in 5 different colors , some of us would be arguing that the Red bullet was better than the Blue , Yellow , Green , or Chocolate colored bullets , while each color of bullet would have it's own group of followers arguing that their color choice is the best .

I have read on many of the threads about Hammer Bullets that your company excels in customer service .
If so , keep up the good work .

I can't bash them because I've never used them. But I do have questions about them? My basic question is to their "long range" capability as this is a long range forum. Pretty much everything I read on here is about someone who praises the merits of hammers, but they are pushing light for caliber bullets at extreme velocities. As I understand it, this is in contradiction to what would normally be considered a long range set up, i.e., heavy for caliber and high bc's. I can see that, that recipe is functionally effective on game and would serve the average hunter well by eliminating range estimation/hold-over within their "normal" ranges. Do hammer bullets that are heavy for caliber and pushed at 'normal" velocities exhibit the same type of effectiveness on game as their lightweight, high velocity counterparts? Are they equally or more effective at long ranges as bullets of other composition(all other things being equal of course and provided the shooter does his part)? Why? Thank You.

OP…. When open discussion is not an option frustration leads to "less productive" communication. In other words, when a group controls or entirely dominates the conversation folks will lash out.
Steve, you missed the mark…it ISN'T the bullets, it IS the marketing.

The above 3 posts are spot on if you have a problem with the bullets post otherwise well you know as I am curious as to what problems people are having with the bullets
With all due respect , that's not what the gentle man asked for . He didn't ask about performance or anything Close, he specifically asked why do you not like them , so the answers can come from any reason.

From your original post. Sorry if you were clear and I didn't understand.
My understanding is that users or satisfied customers are to stand down. I know you to be a regular at Hammertime. This is endemic of the problem in that supporters just can't be content with their own satisfaction and accept different opinions.

How about we post reasons why you dislike/hate Hammers and leave personal attacks out of the opinion? When somebody starts the name calling, their post becomes locust noise and not worthy of any value. Speak with data. Comments on cost, BC are valid statements. Personal attacks are not.
Obviously I misunderstood the intent of the OP. Rants and personal attacks dont do anything to improve a product or service IMO. Constructive criticism or ideas for improvement are generally the main purpose of wanting feedback. I have read some of this here (BC improvements, availability in non-US areas, price points, load data). I hope something positive comes out of this.
Post #20:

I will take anything. It doesn't have to be constructive.

Please give an example of marketing. I would love to read some of Hammers Company's hype.

May I ask then, why are you posting? Steve didn't ask about posters being annoyed by other posters. He asked unsatisfied customers to give their reasons.

It is this…this is exactly why people hate hammer. Rich is a perfect representative of the fanbase that people loathe. Rich was told by Steve not to participate, told not to defend, and yet hear he is in all of his glory, picking fights, defending hammer bullets.
