Ideal powder for speed and stability in 7-08

It has been slow in everting I have ever loaded with it ( Cup & Core included ) and with the Hammers reduced PDR it just seems to amplify the problem, I've got 2 pounds of it I think if anyone needs it

So that would mean that typically sufficient powders for a certain bullet weight/cartridge combination would be too slow, or too fast? I'm just trying to learn here. I have some Hammers sitting the shelf and would rather know more than less. It's sounding like faster powders are better.

As a general rule of thumb loaded to the same pressure with the same powder all bullets of the same mass will travel the same speed +/-.

I just ordered some 120gr hammer hunters for my brother's savage 7-08. I'm looking for the ideal powder as far as speed and temp stability are concerned. This gun will be used year round for shooting anything from varmints and tannerite to deer and possibly hogs.

PP 2000-MR also works well in 7mm-08.

Yeah, based on what I was reading about Parabolic Drag Reduction, the grooves help reduce the drag on the bullet while traveling in the barrel, allowing them to move more freely. What I've gathered, that means less pressure build and more velocity for a similar weight bullet.

You will need to clear mind of conventional reloading procedures for the most part to get the most out of the Hammers

Yeah I have Steve just up the road from me too. I've stopped by to pick his brain a couple times. I think I'd like to go shoot with him and learn more at some point too.
