0-600yrds target caliber

I think you'll really like the .223 Rem in that type of shooting... 600-yards. Here's the one I have which on a nice day doubles for one of my 1K rifles and does a great job if I do my part. Custom Rem700 with 26.5" 1-8 twist Krieger match barrel

Good looking rifle,
Yesterday I opened up my first .223 to 6 mm and it worked great; horror stories of bulging shoulders didn't happen. I plan on using 75 gr. Speer HPs to fire form to my 6-TCU chamber, and will use both 87 gr. Hunter VLDs and 88 gr. VLD Varmints. Also plan to use RL 7 for fire forming, and for now H322 for the VLDs. Still waiting for a seating die to move this project along, but it should arrive soon. Case capacity is said to be the same as the 6 ppc. Accuracy is supposed to be inherently good, and that's what I'm looking for. Check it out if you haven't already. It should be a fun, accurate, and relatively inexpensive option compared to some of the other cases.

6arc......great case designed off the 6.5 Grendel or 6ppc or 220 russian......whatever........factory brass is avaliable and loaded up to 108s. Designed to take the AR15 to 1000yds, but a great round in a bolt gun too. Hornady is pushing the round , so brass should be easier to get. 600yds targets are no problem and recoil is less than the Grendel. I have a few of those and recoil is nearly non existent.

Good looking rifle,
Yeah, that's no fun... I'd look for an old Rem 700 or better yet in my humble opinion a Rem 722, or... go deep and see if you can bring up a Rem 40-X I just like Rem's always have, kinda grew up with them in the day so to speak. But others are fine.

Will see what I find, got To décide for my next built prior that... To many good choice.

But the more I look at it the more I think 6xc, 6dasher or 223

Nothing wrong with the 6XC I love the one I have, but mine is more for hunting not target based on an older Wby MkV Varmitmaster I re-barreled from .22-250 to 6XC The top one is the 6XC at the bottom, is my Wby Varmitmaster Mkv in .224 Wby Mag these are the older miniature MKV actions, great walking rifles very lightweight.

Here's a link to a great article on cartridges used by the pros ( https://precisionrifleblog.com/2018/12/14/rifle-caliber/ ); lots of good info. My TCU isn't on the list because, as they say, "Short and fat is where it's at", and it's old school/old news. Fun, but not competitive.
