Hey all, has anyone else experienced substandard quality with Nosler brass? I picked up some 27 Nosler brass the other day and upon inspection, I found vertical dents in the shoulder of several pieces. I also noticed considerable "flash" inside the case around the flash hole.

I was under the impression that Nosler brass was sold ready to load, which is why it is more expensive.

I've always been a fan of Nosler, and am hoping this is a one-off and not the norm.

Which is why I've switched to ADG, Petersen and Gunwerks brass, depending on caliber and availabilities.

I'd call them on those. I don't know what their standards are now but in the past those would not have made it out of the factory.

Did you buy direct from Nosler and/or buy the factory 'blems' on sale from an aftermarket resale? I've seen and bought factory blem cases from several resellers. The blems are all cosmetic and don't make a difference for hunting or plinking. But if you paid full price direct from Nosler I would call Customer Service and let them know

I wasted money on some 28 Nosler brass that sent me down a rabbit hole pulling bullets chasing serious (looking) pressure signs due to soft brass. Stiff bolt, shaving brass and I wasn't even close to maximum loads. I can't believe they don't test the brass they sell to reloaders. Never had issues reloading their trophy grade ammunition. I switched to Peterson and am glad I did.

I use it in 25-06 .264 Winchester Magnum and .300 Winchester Magnum and .280ai never any issues with it. Only thing I can add is most of the brass is over 5 years old but it was bought new. The 25-06 is used to fire form for 25-06ai.

Thank you for the replies. I think I will get ahold of Nosler. I did not buy direct from Nosler, and I paid full price. I would switch to another manufacturer but I don't know of anyone else making 27 brass yet.

I recently bought 100 pieces of Peterson brass, very impressed so far. This is for my 6.5x300. Seems superior to Nosler.

I picked up a box of 50 30-06 brass yesterday. They look to be in perfect condition like always. Your pic of the box would indicate that it was old stock. I've used blem Nosler brass that was in much better shape than that brass. First thing I would do is call Nosler with the lot number, would also question who ever The brass was bought from.
