Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

So let me get this straight you Wyoming residents have to complete with nonresidents when applying for tags to hunt property that you own?

The last elk tag I purchased in Wyoming went to Residents/draw first and then I was able to purchase a leftover tag.

It never dawned on me that this was a invasion of Marylands resources .

It is, a good portion of you MD taxes and tax money goes to save the bay. Fish and crab licenses are a drop in the bath tub to your rain tax, farm subsidies, and EPA cost share mandates.

Crab limits are not a result of only MD'ers extracting the game.

This thread is about Wyoming...who cares about Montana, they are getting to be as bad as California and Oregon with it's politics.

Lets just fence off all the States borders and not ever let anyone in or out. No tourism, hunting, fishing, etc etc and see how long some States can survive.

Wyoming F&G will NOT make it without NR hunters, simple as that. All the NIMBYs can whine and complain about out of State plates all you want but you all know they are needed for your State to survive.

How many Wyoming residents hire an Outfitter/Guide? Very few do, they make their living on NR hunters.
I really hope you keep that mentality and others like you about Montana. Last I checked we were still a red state. The only reason our politics are starting to suffer is because of the influx of Californians and other blue outa staters moving in. Posting garbage like that makes 90/10 sound better and better.

If Wyoming was to make it about the Deer Elk Antelope ect. They would quit renting the land to ranchers for so cheap . Get the cattle off the lands so the native species wouldn't have to compete for food and water.

All this whining and crying entitlement crap, if the state your living in is so good what do you care about what Wyomings doing or Montana. Last time I looked its Wyoming F@G not California or Wisconsin.

It's the Montana and Wyoming guys doing the whining and crying about wanting everything for themselves.

This thread right here and now is a PRIME example of why the left gets so many gun and anti hunting laws passed and will continue to do so!

Looking out for your fellow hunter and outdoorsman doesn't mean crap to the NIMBYs that want OUR land for themselves.

This thread is no longer about what could possibly happen to the drawing regulations in Wyoming, but has turned into a resident vs nonresident bashing. For us folks who don't have animals such as elk, sheep, goats and etc. in our home state, the west is our only hope for having such an experience, and most of us spend a lot of money for that privelage.

What galls me though are some folks on this thread have no problem taking money from the out of staters for various goods and services provided. Money which goes to supporting their livelihood, however buck at the mention of those same folks wanting to hunt in their state...doesn't appear too fair or maybe a bit selfish.

As long as I can remember, there has always been this division and it comes up more frequently. Remember "divide and conquer"? We as hunters don't need to find ourselves in this position since we are playing right into the hands of the same folks who want to abolish our 2nd amendment rights. So, can't we stop the HATING on each other?

I have been hunting Wyoming on and off since 2000. I love the state so much that I now live here. One of the the things that attracted me to Wyoming early on was the vast wilderness and low hunting pressure. In the last 5 years or so I have seen hunting pressure increase significantly as well as the number of out of state hunters.
Any non resident hunters that are complaining should ask yourselves this question. If I was a full time resident of Wyoming, wouldn't I want to have the first and preferential opportunities to get licenses before non residents?? I certainly feel that the state government here has a right to look out for the people who are here year round and keep the wheels rolling by paying taxes and doing all the things necessary to keep the state operational.
If you don't like the way things may change then perhaps look at some other states for your out of state hunting. When I lived out of state and didn't draw license here it was very disappointing but I sure never thought of contacting WGFD and complaining to them about THEIR laws and rules.
It's not as if Wyoming is going to BAN non residents from hunting here. It just may be a bit more difficult drawing licenses.
I would certainly think that ALL hunters, resident AND non resident would like their hunting time here in the state to have as little competition out in field as possible…..
If outfitters are allowed a certain amount of guaranteed licenses it won't hurt their business and revenue for the state will still come in when these hunters visit here.
I have found that the very large majority of outfitters here are top notch businesses that are very successful at what they do and are a great place for non residents to look for their big game hunting
