Idaho just greatly restricted our out of state tags too and about time. Wish they had cut it even more. Good on Wyoming.

I would like to see it down to a lottery for out of state tags and held to less than 5% of all tags sold. No preference points to buy your way to the top.

Here's the gripe I have with NR talking about how much money they spend going out of state hunting, how much do you think I spend a year in state income taxes, property taxes etc.
Without totalling it up easily 100,000 just in state income tax alone in the 30 years ive lived in Montana.

Hunting has become all business. No one should be able to get a tag for anything outside their county of residence.

That would take care of all this nonsense.

The hunting where I live would be sooo much better if this were the case. But I will admit there are a lot of legitimate reasons why this can't and won't happen.....

Don't know about Wyoming but Montana had a 30% increase in NR applicants and 12% resident applicants that tells you what's going on

Wyomings budget and economy, tourism and extraction, is largely subsidized federally and in The case of extraction often on federal land...

This thread is about Wyoming...who cares about Montana, they are getting to be as bad as California and Oregon with it's politics.

Lets just fence off all the States borders and not ever let anyone in or out. No tourism, hunting, fishing, etc etc and see how long some States can survive.

Wyoming F&G will NOT make it without NR hunters, simple as that. All the NIMBYs can whine and complain about out of State plates all you want but you all know they are needed for your State to survive.

How many Wyoming residents hire an Outfitter/Guide? Very few do, they make their living on NR hunters.

I live in Maryland every weekend I see a line of boat trailers and vehicals with Pennsylvania tags heading for the Chesapeake bay and it's tributaries . Known as the Pennsylvania navy it never dawned on me that this was a invasion of Marylands resources . It just the way it is and Pennsylvanians love to boat , fish and crab in Maryland waters They also come to hunt deer and with bigger bad limits we get many PA residents leasing land and many hunters in the woods. Again I don't feel as if they are wrong wanting to hunt my state. As far as slob hunters I know my share of local idiots and I would match these slobs against any other states jerk wads!
My point here is I've hunted Wyoming 4 different times and love the State, some of the most gracious just the down right nicest people on the planet! I hope I can go back and I hope they don't squeeze out the non residents that love the state and our only crime is our lives , family and businesses are in other states. I don't have the answers but I know Maryland benifits from PA dollars and I'm sure Wyoming does the same from nonresidents . I hope the task force realizes many of us nonresidents love and respect your state and we are not the problem. If I don't get a chance tohunt WY again it will be a big disappointment but then again I have never had a problem following the rules or adapting to change.
