I recently interviewed a friend of mine to know what his experience has been like hunting with electric bikes. You can check out the article here: Hunting with Ebikes
What letter is that and what does it do?I was unable to hunt with my e-bike last year because MT has not yet implemented the approval letter from the undersecretary of the Interior (IIRC).

Interesting. I seen a pile of them at Glacier National Park last year. I've seen them in Idaho for quite awhile now, so I didn't know there were any restrictions on them.
Are they in a non-motorized road/area?Interesting. I seen a pile of them at Glacier National Park last year. I've seen them in Idaho for quite awhile now, so I didn't know there were any restrictions on them.
My brother in law took his Rambo Ebike to Idaho last year, we hunted Salmon national forest. Had a few problems with after the 40 hr. Drive on the back of the trailer, first day there game warden advised him Ebikes were not allowed, forest Service had the say so on them.Interesting. Yep, I consulted with MT FWP and the Forest Service with the letter last year. They said they are aware of it, but not implementing it is the directive they got from their leadership. Apparently, it is a big political battle between e-bike proponents and other groups like the outfitters that employ horses, IIRC.My brother in law took his Rambo Ebike to Idaho last year, we hunted Salmon national forest. I few were in areas that didn't allow UTVs or vehicles. The rest I seen when driving the forest. Are they in a non-motorized road/area?
You can still go to the forest as long it is NOT designated as a non-motorized access road/area.I few were in areas that didn't allow UTVs or vehicles. The rest I seen when driving the forest.

Guess a few of them where breaking the law than because they were in areas that were restricted to no motorized, that's what I was meaning by them not allowing UTVs.You can still go to the forest as long it is NOT designated as a non-motorized access road/area.
I am hoping they would allow e-bikes this year.Guess a few of them where breaking the law than because they were in areas that were restricted to no motorized, that's what I was meaning by them not allowing UTVs.
