Bullets from the Bible! - Enhance your shooting technique.

BFTB - 3/31/2021 - Better Equipment

The truth is that high end equipment provides high end experiences. It's nearly a universal truth, were it not for ultra rare exceptions. Nice things cost money, and often people don't like that pressure. They'll ignore the truth to alleviate the pressure, but the fact that the better equipment is almost always worth it, will not change. If you have nice gear, let others experience it. Share the truth!

BFTB - 4/1/2021 - Choose a mentor

Find someone you can trust. Discover the depth of their experience and if they can prove they have enough, choose to trust them. You can then both be propelled forward as your questions will continue to demand more and more skill of your mentor, as your own skill increases.

BFTB - 4/2/2021 - Firing Schedule

The frequency you apply to your shooting can determine how quickly you progress in this discipline. You must make a time commitment each day to get at least one honest shot or honest dry fire cycle. The more frequently you do it, the more comfortable you will become.

BFTB - 4/5/2021 - Variables

Are you accounting for all that needs accounted for? Are you doing things for the sake of doing it rather than any actual reason or benefit which is supported by facts? How much to make you "feel" better rather than actually BE better?

BFTB - 4/6/2021 - Small variables, big performance

Little things can have big consequences. There's no reason to assume anything. Variables can be tested. Laziness and apathy are not your allies.

I'm somewhat advanced in age but have seen these words play out as quite true over the years as being very accurate statements. The same can be applied to our walk of faith. To identify variables or issues you have to shoot, have a walk. A Navy Seal once said "an undisciplined mind is a very dangerous thing".

BFTB - 4/7/2021 - Mirage

Mirage often tries to obscure the truth. It can be a true deceiver. However, it can also be a close ally. Learn what to trust and what to discard. Work with the truth, always.

BFTB - 4/12/2021 - Shoot Alone

Be careful not to bring distractions with you every time you shoot. It's important for your mental state to stand on its own without collapsing under its own weight.

BFTB - 4/13/2021 - Authentic Knowledge

You don't serve others by stealing authentic knowledge and passing it off as your own. That is self serving. Share the information willingly, but always included the authentic source of that information if it is not entirely your creation. This is especially important if you are not an expert.

BFTB - 4/14/2021 - Resolute Follow Through

Stay with the rifle through the recoil impulse no matter how the shot is going. There is always something to see, hear, or feel that can lead to great discovery. Even when you are in the middle of your greatest failure, you can glean information about the subtle variables which can lead to a better performance next time.

I have been assigned various training positions of training others over the years. As I've taught what, how, and why I do things I've become more proficient myself many times. Admittedly it may bring me back to the importance of fundamentals. The importance of operating alone can,t be overstated. A crutch(distraction) in any form is still a crutch

Great lessons. Both of them!

When I first started pulpit supply at our church a valuable lesson Pastor taught me was "don't preach the commentaries, or you won't grow". I was to preach what the Lord had for me not what He had for someone else
