Hello all, I'm curious about the general collective on Brux barrels? No 2nd hand knowledge please.
What is your experience, good, bad, stupendous... horrible??

im considering one for an old Mauser action and hand-made stock. It's currently a .220 swift that apparently had a sketchy wildcat chamber (keeps splitting brass on me, very scary).

The rifle was a gift and means a lot to me. I'm not sure what barrel profile it has now but I'd like to stick with it or slightly smaller (maybe a #2 or #3). I believe that with the same bolt face I'll go with 25.06.

Thoughts?

Brux is a good barrel!

I've got three brux barrels, two of three most accurate rifles I've ever been around have a brux, the other is a bartlein. I'm going to build another rifle this year, it will have a brux barrel on it. I've only got a dozen or so custom barrels to personally compare it to, so my opinion isn't worth much, but I can say with confidence that brux makes a really good barrel.

The very best barrels I have had over the years where Bartlein Krieger Rock my latest favorite has been Muller he also IMO makes one of the very best .22 lr which he button rifled. In the 80s I really had a number of good Hart barrels.

I have never tried a Brux and for no good reason other than I was happy with what I was using. But today with the wait times from Bartlien Muller and Rock I am considering them. Its hard to find someone stocking .375 barrels as they are a lower demand caliber. So I too am considering a Brux .375 11 twist fluted and threaded for a nice compactish pack rifle for something similar to a .375 Ruger but a wildcat.

Given Brux barrels have won a fair number of BR comps and set a few records I am thinking they have to be fairly decent lol

I have had all those mentioned above. One Brux in 6BR. Accuracy is just OK. But I had a ell of a time finding ogive touching the lands. Some shooters blame the barrel when gunsmithing may be the real problem.
