Here, I'll help. I like the .17 stuff for varmints. My favorite no fuss option is this totally stock Tikka T1X in 17HMR that I mounted a way better than I expected Riton scope that I got during a clearance sale for like $150. It would be hard to be less impressive than this, but man does it shoot.

It's a 257 WSM 12 twist 30" It shoots 87gr Vmax's and 70gr Blitz Kings let's just say it would give a rail Gun a run for the money.LOL
The scope is a Konus 40 power I can not only see the coyote I can see up the coyotes @ss.
PS: I can't show you the caliber or twist on this one since it is stamped at they end of the barrel.

I'm glad it isn't a beauty pageant but then I haven't figured out how to post a picture yet either . The rifle that I have killed the most coyote with I bought back in 1987 on sale for 225.00 took it to the gun smith and ask him to pillar bed it on the way home and had a scope that he mounted with two piece red field mounts and rings . It's spent it's life riding in my truck on four wheelers and in general being abused . the stock is dinged up and it has the bluing worn off in a couple of places . It's a model 70 Winchester chambered in 223 rem but it still shoots 1/2 " groups at a hundred yards loves 55 gr. sierra hpbt's running at 3000 with h335 , it does get taken in and cleaned pretty often , the bolt is ran dry because of all the dust we live in here in Wy. I used to run graphite on and in the bolt as a lube but stopped doing that and use a good auto paste wax now instead .
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have a gun similar and I look at the beat up stock and the bluing missing here or there and it makes me smile. Mine to is a 223 but mine loves 40 gr ballistic tips stacks them on one hole at 100. Ive shot so many varmits and predators with it I would hate to see them all in one stack...
I don't know about you but every ding , worn bluing spot has a story that comes to mind when I take the time to look at them . My rifle is like an old friend to me and a thing of beauty to me as we've been through a lot together . You are so right 257WTBY .
