Hi everyone, 1st posting.
I was wondering if anyone knows the mag length of the Browning x-bolt max long range in 6.5 prc compared to the mag length of the Savage 110 tactical in 6.5 prc. I like the 26" barrel and the 1:7 twist of the Browning. The Savage 110 tactical has a 24" barrel (1:8 twist). I am assuming the Savage 110 is a long action. I am here in Ohio. I would shoot this rifle at ranges from 100 - 1,000 yards. But most of the time it would be shot at 600 yds. It would be used on coyote also. I like the 140 - 156 gr bullets. I would be using ADG brass and Forster dies. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Both have the potential to serve you well. This boils down to personal preference. "Mine" would be the Savage, their out of the box accuracy and DIY friendliness is hard to beat. Good luck with your decision.

Hello...im not sure on the browning... But i have been breaking in and working up gunwerks(adg) brass in the Sav desrt tactical. Its got 2.98 mag length. The machining is rougher than the other savages i have but it shoots great. Im @ 60 grains h1000 3050fps 147eldm with no pressure. Backing down a little for es and sd next. Ist group out of box 1/2 moa.

Somethings to consider. 24 inch barrel seems to be enough unless your after max speed.
Savages can be rebarreled easyier at home with a prefit when ya smoke the barrel.
Always get the accutrigger.
I love accustocks.
My particular rifle is heavy (accurate). I dislike the big 8 round mag for hunting (smaller 4rnd available (accurate mag 300wsm)

Thats all I have to say about that.

My browning x bolt 6.5 PRC has a notch in the magazine that measures 3.0" exactly. What you leave up in tip space is up to you. I run Berger 156 EOL and measure 2.96"
