264 win mag velocities?

A question for you 264 win mag shooters, what velocities are you getting with 26" barrels and with what 120-156 bullets?
I'm considering rebarreling to that cartridge after this one is done.
I have not shot the heavies but 3100 with a 140 and 3200 with a 130 is about it at normal pressures and a saami chamber.

Thanks David, what powder(s) you running? Somewhere in low 70s powder charge?
I use US869 in mine.78 with a 130 and 76 with a 140 with a magnum primer. CCI 250,s are optimized for ball powder. Also a Winchester magnum works very well. We all know every rifle is different so start a few grains lower and work up. Find some Winchester brass if you can. Much harder than Norma or nosler. Also us869 is temp sensitive so in November go up a grain and in hot weather down a grain. Good luck!! P.S. The 264 is a funnel throat so smoke your bullets and run just off the lands.

I use RETUMBO or 50BMG in my 264, I have barrels in 26", 28" & 30".
My velocities with 142gr ABLR or 140gr Hybrids run from just above 3200fps-3400fps. Have only ever tried 130gr Accubonds in my 26" barrel and got a little over 3300fps.
I have to add my chambers are all cut with the same reamer and have a 3° tapered throat that is .220" long, this changes the pressures significantly.

Cheers.

156 Bergers ended up around 3170 before pressure signs, that was in federal brass. ADG brass may go higher before pressure. We were shooting the 147 ELD-M at 3240 for a while too, it was pretty close to max in federal brass.

26" 4 groove 7.5 twist krieger barrel. This is a SAAMI chamber, the 156 is way down in the powder column. With a proper throat, would be even more impressive.

This is excellent! Great post. You don't see too much data on the 264 with modern bullets and powders. I also think with a proper throat you could hit a higher node with the 156s and get around 3200-3230. That would be deadly!

That's impressive Cody! What is your C.O.L? And what would it be if it was throated how youd like it?

Lots of good info here. Cant wait to burn the barrel out of this wby Vgd so I can start fresh.
