Don't be a poacher.

If they would bring back public hangings, lots of stuff would stop. Nothing like taking some lawn chairs and a cooler full of cold beer and watching scum hang till they quit twitching! Now that's a Saturday evening!
So we are all on the same page trespassing and poaching. He didn't have a tag. It's poaching. If a guy trespassed on my property I would want to punch him too.
poaching because he filled his single tag.
It would have been poaching if on his property.
Talking the second deer (not on his property) did not make it any more or less of a crime.

What you "want" does not pass for law.
He could bring charges for assault and battery.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

amazing you all have stayed out of jail so long in your lives.

^ yes, why are you making this confusing. Poaching and trespassing. If he was trespassing I would want to punch him in the face. Doesn't mean I did or would.

And in many areas now....trespassing with a firearm is considered criminal trespass with intent...as to whatever intent is......seems like he meant to kill that critter.....no tag....no religious beliefs as to 'do unto your neighbor as you would have him undo to you'....they should have their religion jerked from under them....
This guy clearly was caught...illegal taking of a game animal during a hunting season(but some places have different restrictions of game animals after seasons are over...ie..crop damage)...but killing a critter on neighbors land with a firearm without a tag during season...(hanging)....shooting a buck like that on neighbors property...(hanging)....trying to hide behind religious beliefs(hanging).....
Can you see where i am going with this.......:)...
Carrying that firearm onto neighbors property after committing the crime and enhancing his crime with criminal trespass with a firearm.......(hanging)....
Foolish hyperbole to enter capital punishment for a property crime. These forum often get ridiculous in the lack of respect for life. Corporal punishment....I can get behind, cruel and unusual as it may be. The court seems to have dealt with the scofflaw appropriately.

The key to staying out of jail is u have to ensure u get all the numbers and prints off the burner pistol. Just takes a little time and a well rehearsed story! Keep on kumbaying with them criminals, someone has to take the garbage out.

Because people keep confabulating the two.
Taking game off your land is not a crime.

You all sound like people who own beach front property and think they can keep people off of "their beach"
Public rights and public beach access are not abridged just because you purchased the adjacent land.

Game remains a public property,a public resource, even on your private land.
Yes, you can control access to your land. But you will never own the wild animals on it.

It is an important concept that the entire hunting community used to understand.

I'm just not seeing it voiced here.

What are u talking about? Private property is private property. The deer may not be yours but the land most definitely is. What's the use of having your own property if anyone can help themselves to it?

Yes once again I understand this concept. I would never own beach front property so I can't relate.

What I've learned from this thread:
People cant take a joke,
Deer are a public resource, but your private land isnt. Or is it? Or were the deer a private resource on your public land? Dang it I thought I had it!
No brother the take away is the deer isn't yours, the land isn't yours and you should let everyone come on your property and take what they would like. Easy enough! Oh! And burner pistols are murder!
