Banish brand suppressor?

TBAC is the gold standard of precision that all other cans are measured. Doesn't mean that the Banish is bad, but saying TBAC is only good for full auto or really powerful 30 calibers is pretty absurd.

I don't see the benefit to screwing on an additional 4 oz extension for a precision can. That will certainly change POI of your rifle and I can't see a circumstance where I'd swap back & forth. Also, endcaps are just for marketing, you need the full baffle stack to have a smaller orifice to realize any real benefit.

The biggest benefit is the ability to find the Banish in stock compared to a TBAC.

Other than forgetting that TBAC does not make a full-auto suppressor, I stand behind every statement I made.

You are nitpicking over unimportant features. Both the QD and "conical" utilize a heavy, steel attachment between the barrel and the suppressor, and both utilize large diameter, coarse threading, which makes for quick disconnects. Whether the wall is 90 degrees or "conical" is not an important feature.

Call me "ill informed" if you want -- I know that 9 oz. is better than 11.5 oz, and getting both a 9" and a 7" suppressor all in one is better than having to buy either one, or both. I still say the Banish is superior to every other suppressor, in the features that matter to most people.

Dude, you just can't help yourself. Coarse threading? Quick disconnects? You clearly have no idea how TBAC's TOMB mounts work. Just stop talking about things you don't understand.

It sounds like you're happy with your choice to buy a Banish and that's awesome (being sincere). But the market disagrees with what is important.

TBAC sells a ton of suppressors because of their level of precision and POI repeatability. There is no question that TBAC controls the market for precision cans. If weight and size control the decision, try an Ultra-5, or a muzzle brake, or a bare muzzle.

To the OP, if this is your first can and/or you're looking for a precision rifle can, buy a TBAC. Very similar price and none of the gimmicks. If this isn't you're first, give Banish a try and let us know your thoughts.

I love reading supporter fights so I'll ad a little wood to the fire. What brand has a better warranty? I checked into it the Banish has limited lifetime, and the TBAC has unconditional lifetime.
I really doubt buying either one would be a bad decision. I personally think that there are cans available, that are just as good maybe even better than the TBAC for less money.

My experience is that the POI consistency with the Banish is absolutely superb, as in, it does not change at all. It might if you don't clean it, but I clean mine every 100 rounds or so (more like 300 if I'm shooting p-dogs), so I wouldn't know. I'm an accuracy freak at every range from 100 to 1000 yds, and would notice quickly if the POI was not consistent.

I'm sure the TBAC is a fine tool, but it is a mistake to assume it is better than the Banish.

The Banish is sold by Silencer Central, who has never made a suppressor. They have contracted with machine shops to make them for them. I got one years ago from them and it was made by Yankee Hill Machine, which is a top-drawer machine shop. The Banish is made by Mack Brothers in Sturgis, SD. They are as good as it gets.

The main thing is, get a suppressor, if you don't already have one. It is amazing how much they improve your shooting experience. Just be sure you get a quality one.

Didn't realize my question would stir up such a frenzy lol. Yes this would be my first can. Yes I realize that caliber specific cans will give best dB reductions for that caliber. But regardless I think it'll still work decently with a 22-250 which is the main gun it would be on. Then my ar and possibly my 26 nosler. Right now my only 30cal gun is a 30-06. The barrel is too thin to be threaded so it would be used on a future 30 cal. I figured since this is going to cost me about $1375(can, tax stamp, photo/prints, accessories) that one can would be sufficient. Hoping to find 1 to cover all my needs. Every time you buy one it's going to be about $750 and up for each new can. Also what's the TBAC that keeps getting mentioned? Thunder beast?

Yes TBAC is Thunderbeast Arms Corp.

If you plan on shooting 26 Nosler suppressed, I would check with the Banish manufacturer to make sure it will handle that cartridge. My understanding is that the Banish is rated to 300 Weatherby. 26 Nosler would be significantly harder on a can than a 300 Weatherby due to similar case capacity and a smaller bore.

The TBAC cans will handle the 26 Nosler without issue.

Ok. Any thoughts on silencerco harvester 300? I was just looking at that one. Same caliber range but $724 vs $979. Only 1.6oz difference. And what TBAC model would you recommend?

I recommend the TBAC ultra line , get the longest one you're willing to put up with and enjoy.

TBAC is the gold standard, period . Banish might be out of business before your form 4 clears . Suppressor companies come and go , do a search on Leviathan suppressors .

Long live Remmy700

Just watched a YouTube video on the Harvester. They took 5 shots with and 5 shots without suppressor. With 3 different calibers.
308 averaged 32db reduction
300blk 33.4
5.56 33.1
So as far as performance goes looks like a 30cal can still reduce smaller calibers well. So that being said I just need to choose one. The thing I like about Banish is they do the trust for free if you buy from silencer central. Not a complete deal breaker but seems to be a nice added feature anyway.

Sorry I don't have any experience with the Harvester. You might get more responses over on Snipers Hide.

Which TBAC depends on your requirements. Will you primarily carry it in the field on a hunting rifle? If so the Ultra 7 is hard to beat. If maximum suppression is desirable and you can tolerate more length, the Ultra 9.

I started with an Ultra 9 and used it on 260, 6.5x47, 7RM, and 28 Nosler. I was very happy with the 9 and was willing to tolerate the length given the awesome suppression level. Then I got an Ultra 338 for my 338 Norma, and I am forever smitten. I now use the 338 can on all of my rifles because it is crazy impressive. The Ultra 9 rarely leaves the safe. I tend to value suppression over all else and I am willing to tolerate a big can, so YMMV.

Yes, that is nice, if you buy thru a trust, like I do. I just checked with SC and the Banish 30 will be fine with a Nosler 26. I shoot a 204 a lot, which is a very loud round. My experience with that is that a 30-cal. can eliminates almost as much noise as a 22-cal can does. Almost. It is still nice to have a 22-cal suppressor for the small stuff, but by no means mandatory. You will be delighted with the noise reduction you get with a 30-cal. can even with 22-cal and smaller rounds.
